BOULDER, Colo. (AP) -- Boulder residents will no longer be able to cool off with an ice cream cone by the pool because the city has discontinued the sweet treat as a vending option at all Parks and Recreation facilities.
The city dropped ice cream cones, bars and sandwiches in an effort to cut down on sugary, unhealthy snacks, The Daily Camera reported (http://bit.ly/29c8YoD). City-run facilities can only sell treats that satisfy a series of nutritional standards, meaning chips and other junk food also left snack stands this year.

Swimming uses up calories - nothing wrong with feeding a healthy and active body some good tasting calories once in a while...when I was a kid, we stayed healthy and trim via such activities and ate a lot of between meal junk food while we were at it.

Kids can be very clever when it comes to getting their treats. I’ve seen them work around Lunch Room and Cafeteria
rules about what foods are ‘appropriate’ for you to eat. They will play on the sympathies of certain adults who don’t agree with the new rules.
Watch and see that somebody’s favorite Grandpa or Aunt might
just so happen to have a truck full of Jamba Juices and Orange Cream-Cicles they ‘forgot’ were there all stored in a box with dry ice.
A lot of Boulder has the munchies by 12 pm. This won’t last long.
