These are my thoughts, no conclusions, not suggesting gloom and doom.
In what way do you believe Lewandowski made that happen? You almost sound as if Trump played a very small role in his success.
Manafort also brought you REAGAN in 1980...he knows this dance very well
Corey didn't bash him when he was interviewed yesterday, he was his old self...now he has some time to spend with his family, and I think we need to thank Corey for the job he did!!!
But isn’t the variable Trump?
Would Lewandowski have done the same with Rand Paul?
Would Trump be the nominee with, say, Nicole Wallace?
I don’t know.
Or you are going from the plains to the mountains.
The primary is a different animal from the general.
Your organization is different, your fund raising is different, the group you are appealing to is different.
If you're not up to the job, Trump isn't afraid to pull the trigger and let you go.
Prospective cabinet members should take note.
Because Manafort does know how to run and win a general...Besides Cory had not had a good relationship with Ivanka who is doing a lot of campaigning for her dad....My best guess, Cory couldn’t fit into the new structure.
Also to note is that Trump does very well when he has a reasonable (I don’t mean Clinton reasonable) amount of rest and contact with his family. When he is over schedules his rhetoric gets more rambling. Scheduling was part of Cory’s deal.
And finally, Herman Cain said he was chatting with Cory before introducing that awww shucks ducky candidate Donald Trump backstage. Herman said Cory told him he was exhausted....hadn’t ever been this tired.
SO take your pick and relax Donald is still in charge
If you read Drucker’s book on Management, you will find that it takes a different kind of manager to do a startup from the kind of manager you need to take a company public. Cory said on F&F this morning that he was a startup guy. Time for the next stage in the campaign.
Evidently, a lot going on behind the scenes.
I would have chosen Corey over Paul, even though Corey didn’t go after Trump delegates the way Cruz’s campaign did. It turned out they weren’t needed or so we thought since Trump had enough to get nominated on the first ballot.
But with Ryan & the rest of the RINOs trying to steal it, the delegates may sill be in play.
If the GOP goes that route, they can forget having a party. I don’t think Ryan really cares. He may feel more at home with his wife’s party than the GOP. I think the GOP elites want Trump to bow down to them. I like Corey’s way better, but evidently Paul is going to play to the peacocks like Ryan.
Supposedly, Trump’s kids sided with Paul. Evidently, Corey had lit into some woman in the campaign and she complained. He shouldn’t have done that, but he has been work 18 hour days.
Anyway, maybe he will get some rest and now that Trump sees that Corey is remaining loyal, he will give him another role where he and Paul don’t interact.
Also Paul Mannafort is a business partner of Roger Stone. I’m sure that played into the decision too.
Lewandowski did not seem bitter about the change & even
expressed appreciation for Mr. Trump.
First of all, attempting to imply that all Manafort ever did in his career was advise a failed '96 Dole campaign is akin to saying that all Ronald Reagan ever did was announce ballgames for an Iowa radio station.
Also, you attach way too much significance to Lewandowski's role in the Trump campaign. He did a great job overall but did not singlehandedly get Trump to the nomination as you seem to imply.
If there weren’t so many cunning runts in the GOP establishment to deal with, I’d be inclined to agree with you.
Corey lands on his feet though, the Trumps will make sure of it.
ANYTHING to throw shade on Trump and try to bring him down. And brazenly use FREE REPUBLIC as your platform. And a freaking VANITY. Shame.
Not for policy, but for structure..
-How to set up swing state organization
-How to set up a nationwide GOTV organizations.
-How to solicit money for the campaign..
-How to set up a media response team...
However good Lewandowski was in helping Trump win, he has a far too large of a learning curve...
If he was getting in the way of these things happening, he needed to go...
Jeb Bush and Lindsay Graham were 'heavyweights'??? HA!
Politics is like football, once your opponents have adjusted to your running quarterback, it's time to switch to a passing quarterback...........
Or so it seems ...
If Trump had stuck with Corey and never brought in Manafort, I think everybody involved would have been the better for it.
