Full Title -- "Why today's young women are just so FEEBLE: They can't cope with ANY ideas that challenge their right-on view of the world, says a top academic"
Some of the girls were sobbing and hugging each other, while others shrieked. The majority appeared at the very least shell-shocked.
It was distress on a scale appropriate for some horrible disaster. Thankfully, however, I wasn't in a war zone or at the scene of a pile-up - but in a school hall filled with A-level students.
What had provoked such hysteria? I'd dared express an opinion that went against their accepted way of thinking.
'Generation Snowflake' is the term for these teens, one that's now used frequently in the U.S. and becoming more common here. It describes a fragile, thin-skinned younger generation that can't cope with conflicting views, let alone criticism.
---
It happened when I was taking part in a debate at a North London school as director of the Institute of Ideas early last year.
The subject under discussion was footballer Ched Evans - who was then a convicted rapist and had just been released from prison (he's since had his conviction quashed and is awaiting a retrial). His team, Sheffield United, had taken him back, and we were debating whether the subsequent furore was social justice or mob rule.
I knew many wouldn't agree with my stance, which was that Evans had completed his sentence and should be able to return to his profession. But during the final Q&A all hell broke loose. I dared suggest (as eminent feminists have before me) that rape wasn't necessarily the worst thing a woman could experience.
I expected robust discussion - not for them all to dissolve into outraged gasps of, "You can't say that!"

Just young women? I’m sure there are plenty of British boy snowflakes as well.
A particular term keeps coming to mind: learned helplessness.
How are these snow flakes going to deal with the military draft? Doesn’t make any sense.
Maybe they are faking for the cause? Or when a footballer takes a dive for the penalty? A kind of passive aggressive form of brown shirts and thuggery. Just doing their part while the block wardens approvingly oversee while ready to single out subversives for further indoctrination.
Generation Snowflakes are like those little goats that freeze up when you yell boo.
This is the end result of saying your feelings are the determination of morality, your feeling good is more important than the opinions or facts of others.
So now people equate their feeling good with being good, and if they don’t like it, it must be evil. And those who intentionally say things they don’t like or disagree with the person are evil.
This is why they can be “triggered” to assault people and property - because they see the dissenting views as an attack on themselves.
TLDR: liberals say all debate is hate, all disagreers are haters, continuing to hate them is an assault, let’s attack them
It is the same view in Islam, where criticism of the culture or ideology is an attack on the ummah, and to be punished with death. Great way to protect a meme, but bad for reason and debate in a society.
I think this is why liberals like Islam - a government structure mandated by the religion to enforce the meme and right to attack those who threaten the meme. The liberals want that type of reinforcement of their views and suppression of others, including permission to violence, they just aren’t as on board with the sexual restrictions of Islam.
Speaking of women.....
Ted Cruz partisans and ‘NeverTrumpers’ talk about staging delegate ‘coup’ in July to torpedo Trump at the Republican National Convention
She gots da krayzee eyezzz ...
It’s not just the females but the males. We now have Pajama Boy.
“How are these snow flakes going to deal with the military draft?”
There is no military draft, there is a Federal jobs program called the “Selective Service System”, but no one will ever be involuntarily inducted again.
We allowed propaganda to program them into "self esteem" garbage - and never taught them how to reason.
My children are freaks. I am responsible because I raised them that way. I raised them to not only not need me to help them but to not want me to help them. The former was intentional and the latter a byproduct.
They figure things out for themselves, do for themselves, are financially independent from the day they graduated university. I gave them a better start than I had because I wanted to but that was the end of it. Once in a great while I am solicited as a sounding board for ideas.
Over the top emotion isn’t just a “liberal” thang. I’ve seen it as a “conservative” thing, generally couched in “Bury XYZ under the jail for something that not even most of modern society, let alone the bible, considers worth doing something much less.”
Here it was “liberal” women thinking of rape. For the “conservative” it’s someone who, for example, tries to outrage him by burning a privately owned US flag.
Highlighting God as the ultimate resource puts it all in perspective. The parent may or may not be the vehicle of such help. Sometimes it comes from elsewhere. But all acknowledge God as the ultimate resource and ultimate wisdom.
Their mothers should have their ovaries ripped out so they don’t make any more like them.
Her teeth are so yellow that she could always get a job at the movies spitting on popcorn to turn it yellow.
Neither one of my kids would ever come to me for advice.
They both believe that I am what they call a Paleocon.
Their definition of Paleocon = A person who believes the finest things in life are to; “see your enemies driven before you, hear the piteous cries and lamentations of their women and children, to seize their lands and gold, to raze and destroy the temples of their false gods, etcetera”, you get the idea.
I just tell them; my mommy raised me that way, she was your Grandma.
