Medical students celebrate their graduation
A film showing male and female medicine graduates together at a party in Saudi Arabia has triggered furore, with some viewers calling for their punishment.
The film, carried by Ajel newspaper and social networks, showed several men and women celebrating their graduation from the faculty of medicine at a shopping mall in the Western Saudi town of Taif.
Many viewers called for the punishment of the participants and the mall which allowed the organization of the party, the paper said.
The participants in the party defended themselves, saying the event was characterized by respect and good behavior.
Saudi Arabia, one of the most conservative Moslem societies, bans mixed-gender meetings in public places except for those closely related to each other.
Yeah, stone educated doctors, that’s the ticket. Better yet, remove their surgeon hands.
What a bunch of inbreds.
Blame it on the women:
Tie them to the whipping post. 50 lashes for fem med students.
Male medical students are then forced to dress the wounds.
Equality, Arabian style.
It seems to me that the relationship exception would apply to almost any gathering in Soddie Arabia.
We have not heard from the usual muslim groups, Cair etc, in regards to Obama’s all inclusive bathroom rules.
Hmmm
Interesting point. And do a search on Middle Eastern consanguinity for some eye-opening academic papers on the subject.
Hey, it works in the US.
Wow, better avoid the sock hops in Riyadh...
Guess there won’t be any “transgender” toilets in saudi arabia any time soon.

It’s ok they were all cousins.
50 years from now will we be seen as “inbreds” for having separate men and women’s restrooms?
Is “brave new world” around the corner?
They’re exempt.

I think (from elsewhere on FR) that they are supposed to use sewak tooth-cleaning stems when beating females.
