A Scottish man who filmed his girlfriend’s dog performing a Nazi salute has been arrested by the police and could face hate crime charges.
Markus Meechan, 28, from North Lanarkshire, was remanded in custody on suspicion of publishing offensive material online.
Meechan uploaded a video to Youtube which allegedly shows a pug making the Nazi salute and watching videos of Hitler.
He has since apologized for causing offense and claims the video was a prank to annoy his girlfriend.

Sure it was stupid to arrest the guy but in the UK, memories die hard as hundreds of thousands of people were killed, injured and lost their homes during the Nazi bombings.
Thank goodness we defeated the nazis otherwise Europe would be overrun by muslims...oh wait...

In several European countries including Germany and England there is less free speech than in the US under our constitution. They were so horrified by the Nazi era and WWII that they have passed laws against various hate and anti religious speech. Some of these countries have state religion which gets tax money, not like our country with freedom of religion and separation of church and state.
