Pilot Keith Mann didnt think twice about breaking the rules and loading his plane with more than 40 furry friends, after they spent a few days north of fire-ravaged Fort McMurray.
When more than 80,000 residents were ordered to flee on Tuesday, many had to leave without all of their pets as they were barred from re-entering the city due to the advancing wildfire.

It was very noble and humane that the pilot saved all those animals.

Company rule of a limited number of pets per flight, and all had to be in a container. He just said screw it and filled it with animals like the last flight outta Saigon.

You wouldn’t belive the rules in Canada...we flew our 2 cats back and forth monthly about 16 years ago ... Only time I ever threw a hissy fit in my life was at Saskatoon airport at 6am on our LAST flight out...

Good for him! During the Katrina evacuations a lot of people were NOT allowed to take their pets with them.

I’ve been fretting over the tornado victims and our Canadian neighbors. It’s so very sad.
Think of all the hunting/fishing guides, trappers who make their living from the spectacular outdoors of the region; they must be reeling.
There has been an outpouring of help,which is gratifying. May God Bless them and the responders.
