TSA warned flyers' patience at "breaking point" over long lines
CBS News ^ | May 10, 2016 | Staff

It's the irony of flying. Planes are the fastest way to travel, but wait times just to get on board keep getting longer, reports CBS News correspondent Michelle Miller.

Now airports in New York and New Jersey are joining a growing chorus of complaints about the long wait times at airport security, saying TSA staffing isn't keeping up with increased passenger traffic.

The peasants are restless. Don’t they know that they can apply for their rights by requesting a TSA-Pre for $80?

That’s funny, but there aren’t any white Anglo-Saxon looking males working for TSA.

I heard a group of them chattering away in Spanish the other day, and the guy who reviewed my “documents” was clearly a hispanic black with an accent, probably Dominican.

More govt rip off fees. Sometimes I get free TSA-Pre and other times not. I'm not paying them a cent. Also some airports dont have TSA-Pre and sometimes they have them but the lanes are closed down. Flying suckaroos these days..

I’m so glad that I have zero need or have any plans of flying commercial for as long as I can tell.

I’m still looking at maybe taking flying lessons next year assuming that money and health cooperate.

Its time for Americans to take up car vacations again. Take the low highway, stay at the cute hotels, go sightseeing, play in the streams and creeks, have lunch at the unique diners, take pictures of the countryside and play tourist.

All that for the illusion of safety.

That has happened to me also... I print off the boarding pass and it magically shows up. Do you have any idea what triggers it?

Then you should speak with my son, a TSA worker at Dallas Love Field.

There is an easy and totally effective fix for this problem. Hire the Israelis to run out TSA from top to bottom; and leave them the bleep alone, to run it exactly as they do in Israel.

The ludicrous hokey pokey involving liquids, shoes, etc. should be eliminated immediately. Even TSA rank and file (aka postmen at the airport) admit it achieves nothing.

But, like any bureaucracy, they are unwilling to change their procedures because it involves rational thought and yielding control.

In numerous airports I have seen the return of the maroon-blazered ‘security’ people. Invariably they are Middle Eastern or from the subcontinent and they have the cheek to demand boarding passes etc. Who are they, why are they there especially with billions spent on the TSA and why are they all of a certain ethnic background?

Bottlenecks are the biggest problem...one person checking IDs is inadequate even at smaller airports. Combine this with the sheer volume of TSA staff standing idle at checkpoints and it becomes maddening.

As usual, when you train idiots you merely get trained idiots. The TSA have obviously implemented some form of ‘soft’ screening with Fake Badge Charlie Goodtime smiling and giving it the good neighbor routine attempting to engage people in line with seemingly random questions about hometowns, destinations, etc. I happily ignored him.

Every time I fly, like every couple of years, I see more uniforms at the airport and more nonuniformed busybodies. I wonder what my ticket to HCM would cost if I paying for all these arrogant parasites.

You should gently inform your son, who is most likely a fine and upstanding young man, that his position in the TSA is akin to a gov't bureaucrat sitting behind a desk filling out people's paperwork all day...

IN GERMANY IN 1939.

TSA is just the American government’s way of giving the American citizens a lesson in being forcefully and personally violated in prep for the federal government’s internment camp roundup. Can’t have no one resist once that starts.

I find your post to be absolutely repugnant, and demonstrates an obvious lack of historical context. Like me, he took an oath to defend the Constitution of the United States, not Adolph Hitler.

I am sure your son is a fine young man, but the agency he works for serves only one purpose, and that is to rob innocent people of their freedom and acclimate them to being treated like cattle, so as to prepare them for a future with far less liberty.

The purpose of the TSA is not to make us safer. It never was their purpose, and after 9/11 some high up guy in DHS openly admitted that fact.

As far as metrics go, the TSA has never prevented a terrorist attack and has done nothing to actually make Americans safer.

That said, I apologize for my offensive comment. Your son does not work for Hitler.

They used to just check me through. Last couple of times they’ve tried to chat me up. Vacation? Going home? Etc. I just look at them and say.....what does the ticket say? I’m not very friendly or chatty with people I don’t know. Put me in a line and it’s even worse. Lol
