My kitty, Mya, used to be that good! She has the same crinkly toy.
Now, all she does all day is nap in front of the “Trump for President” sign. Wishin and hopin and dreamin her life away.
My cat, who could see, liked to play with a balled-up sheet of onionskin typewriter paper. It made that crackly noise, too.
I had a mostly-blind dog whose favorite toy was a golf ball. He could hear it rolling on the hardwood floor and locate it more easily.
She either felt the heat from her body or something else is at work.
Plus she never runs into any barriers and seems to know exactly where they are.
Plus when he's in the yard, he has several sticks that he 'fetches' and has the time of his life chasing around ;-)

I’ve had several kitties who would play fetch but they were all boys
Amazing! I have a cat that looks almost identical, but who would exert that much energy only if the toy were dipped in butter or something he considers yummy
Very sweet.
If I had not seen that she has no eyes I wouldn’t have Believed she is blind. It’s amazing how adaptable we and our fellow creatures have been designed.
Adorable!
Ping!
I found 3 blind kittens once. they seemed to memorize the house and rarely ran into anything. they would run to me when I came home, So they could probably hear my footsteps. the only time they had a problem was if I moved furniture around.
awww, I’m glad he found you. or vice versa.
Thanks for the post. I wish our cat would play fetch. When he wants to play ball, it involves me rolling the ball to him about 5 times for every one time he tries to hit it back to me. The blind cat was very good at the game!
I have two blind cats, it was progressive (genetic) and now at 12 and 13 they are supposedly stone blind, but I think at least one can detect a bit of distant movement or light.
The female 13 year old was the most vicious hunter I’ve ever had, and we still put a yellow bow on her so the birds see her. I don’t know how she does it with birds. But she catches moles and lizards and bugs still. She loves to play “catch the stick” game with me and I have to watch out she doesn’t catch me or it’s band aid time.
