PETA is in it for the money and plays on the emotions of animal loving people for that money.

You gotta hand it to Rush Limbaugh. He sees this kind of crap happening a mile off. Your natural inclination is to laugh it off as preposterous, but here we are.

I welcome any PITA freak that wants to come here and try enforcing any of their nonsense.

Agreed...PETA would rather kill an animal than have people give it a home.

Lots of FReepers are happy to be unwitting dupes for PETA. Just get on any, “pit bull attack,” thread and look at all the so-called conservatives supporting the banning of pet ownership and citing faulty studies. PETA and other animal rights groups are inflaming the pit bull propoganda to set the precedent to bar pet ownership. It will just be the first domino.

success in changing the public's perception about animals in captivity.

That's a propaganda statement and I would disagree. Sea World caved because they could not afford the continuous lawsuits brought against them by the various animal rights groups such as the WWF and especially the HSUS.

The HSUS is a bogus animal rights group that does nothing to help pets in shelters but rather uses all the donations to fund their lawyers.........

Yep, HSUS is as bad if not worse than PETA.

"Animal rights activists believe all animals, including your dog or cat, should have the same rights as people and be free; therefore they shouldn't be in human care under any circumstances." -- Jack Hanna
All such animal rights activists should have their throats cut, then.

CEO Joel Manby acknowledged the animal rights groups’ success in changing the public's perception about animals in captivity.

Where's the evidence that "the public's perception" has been changed?

A small, vocal group is not "the public", and by caving to them you merely make them stronger.

Kind of like queers and their various associated mentally ill brethren...

Talk about tyranny by a minority.

“Animal rights activists believe all animals, including your dog or cat, should have the same rights as people and be free; therefore they shouldn’t be in human care under any circumstances.”

Then neither should welfare recipients. How are they ever going to learn to survive in the wild if we keep feeding them?

Let them try to take our dog from us - the dog will rip out their throats.
