A Springdale man faces multiple alcohol- and violence-related charges after allegedly kicking law officials and later using his shirt to flood his jail cell.

According to a preliminary report obtained from the Huntsville Police Department, Jonathan David Perrodin, 33, faces charges of second degree battery on a law enforcement officer, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, DWI, refusal to submit to a chemical test, resisting arrest, driving without proof of insurance, speeding and drinking on a highway.

According to the report, Perrodin was pulled over at approximately 1:22 a.m. Sunday after allegedly driving 35 miles per hour in a 25-miles-per-hour zone. In the report, the responding officer states that Perrodin became irate and yelled, “just ... take me to jail” when asked by the officer if he had been drinking. Perrodin’s wife, according to the report, stated they had drank “three or four beers” before Perrodin allegedly told her to stop speaking to the officer.

After a Madison County Sheriff’s deputy arrived on-scene, police reportedly instructed Perrodin to exit his vehicle, at which time he became disorderly. The report states that the officer tried opening the car door, after which Perrodin locked the door, and the officer reached through the window to open the car door from the inside. While law enforcement attempted to detain Perrodin, police reported that he “proceeded to kick” both the officer and the deputy.

“Mr. Perrodin continued to actively resist arrest,” the responding officer stated. “Mr. Perrodin continued pulling away from us and continued to try to get away.”

The officer stated that he used an arm bar to force Perrodin to the ground, causing minor scrapes to the left side of Perrodin’s face. According to the report, Perrodin continued to resist.

“Once we were able to get handcuffs on Mr. Perrodin, we had to carry him to my patrol unit due to him refusing to walk,” the report states. “Once in my patrol unit, Mr. Perrodin commenced to trying to kick out the door window of my patrol unit.”

Law officials then reportedly attempted to apply leg restraints to Perrodin, but would have to use a stun gun to his rib area get the restraints on.

After being booked into the Madison County Jail, Perrodin continued to refuse to walk, the report states, and would use his shirt to flood the toilet in his jail cell.

“Once in the jail, Mr. Perrodin flooded the jail cell using his shirt and the toilet,” the report states. “I instructed Mr. Perrodin to step away from the toilet. When

Mr. Perrodin stepped away from the toilet, he threw the shirt that was in the toilet at me.”

Perrodin was released from the Washington County Detention Center early Sunday afternoon on a $2,500 bond.

Perrodin is a co-creator of Team Springdale and the Little Craft Show, and serves on boards of trustees for both the Springdale Public Library and the Shiloh Museum.

Some people are almost allergic to alcohol, exhibiting Jeckyl and Hyde duality when heavily soused often involving violent or abusive acts. These people should never drink, or only in limited amounts in the privacy of their own home.

Remember that YouTube episode of a Taxi driver being beaten in the head by a drunk passenger? It happened last summer. Of course later the guy says “That was not me! I’m not always like that!”. He lost his job, and now he wants to sue the taxi driver for posting that video.
What a skunk!

I've seen a lot of people act like that.
A mental health counselor that destroyed a metal cell bunk. A district court judge, Doctor, and a guy wanted for murder ;-/

Not everybody is a saint.
