Vanity-If delegates choose our Nominee then voters should darn well get to vote for the delegates.

Posted on 04/18/2016 9:55:53 AM PDT by Cats Pajamas

If we can't pick our nominee then we should get the chance to vote for delegates. The RNC/GOP should not be able to wine/dine and cherry pick delegates.

THIS NASTINESS IS NOT A REPRESENTATIVE REPUBLIC. IT IS CHERRY-PICKED AND GERRY-MANDERED ON BOTH SIDES.

Democrat and Republican are just made up words to give us the appearance we have a choice.

D.C. is an elite club and we ain't in it!!!!!

That’s actually pretty much how all the states do it. They have state conventions where delegates are chosen through various means, said delegates are bound to vote according to primary/ caucus results for some number of ballots depending on the state, most it’s just the first ballot, some 2 or 3, I don’t think anybody goes past 4 anymore.

Nobody is cut off, this is largely put in place to make sure they come out of the big convention with a candidate even if the voters can’t put together the numbers. If nobody gets the magic number on the first ballot then they NEED to have delegates able to change their vote. When people talk about a candidate not having a ground game this is what they’re really talking about. GOTV is the BEGINNING of a ground game, you need to have dedicated delegates running in the state convention so that if things go past the first ballot you’re still in it AND people showing up at the state convention to vote (or whatever the local rules are) them in as delegates. Smart candidates understand that the primary race doesn’t end until they’re done with their acceptance speech.

>>>The big reason nobody knew the process before was the GOP stooge easily won re election or he went under the radar..

The rules changed for this election greatly benefitted Trump. He’s the stooge that went under the radar this time.

>> I was complaining about Colorado two weeks ago after reading about the process

Colorado hasn’t had a GOP primary since 2001.

>>Imagine if all states cut off voters..

Ah, we would have to imagine it wouldn’t we. Imagine it in the states where Trump claims it was a “voterless election.”

We’d have to imagine it, because his claim is a lie. His followers still repeat the lie. That’s what I find hard to imagine.

“Hey Wyoming GOP voters, you’re electing delegates today, be sure to show up and vote for me.”

Sorry your would be tyrant is a political patsy.

Its just not fair when the winner who always wins, loses. Its not fair- I tell you, it's a crime against nature and an upsetting of the laws of nature. Donald always wins, even when he rigs it so, but it is morally justified when rigs it because he is a winner who wins so often he gets tired of winning. the Donald is entitled to be the supreme potentate of the universe and anything that is not in support of his deification is anathema and clearly evidence of a rigged system by the establishment illuminiti who are controlled by aliens from the planet Rinophobia outside our galaxy via a brain wave flux capacitor. The idea that a constitutional republic brings maximum liberty is of course false, only the worship of the self-exalted and mighty Trump can bring greatness to America and peace to the planet. But the alien's establishment slaves stand in the way of the great Trump magnificent reign. If only more people protected their brains with anti-rino tin foil hats, then more would see that Trump is truly a demi-god sent to us from the Olympus and ignoramus to save America from the RINO aliens to rule us with an amoral benevolent totalitarian Reich.

The opposite is also true: this should be a red light that your candidate isn't what's advertised either.

Cruz has a fairly consistent trail of advocating for conservatism while Trump has a long and consistent trail of coming down on all sides of the issues.

Your candidate is the most hated guy in the U.S. Senate. No one likes working with him and he's not demonstrated a capability of working with others either.

So the establishment hates him and refuses to like him or work with him.......and in your world, this proves that he is GOPe? Alrighty then. Cruz is the opposite of your guy who eagerly works with, and donates to, the most liberal politicians in the country. It's so confusing. I thought we were tired of politicians who reach across the aisle and sell out conservatives every chance they get. But here you are demanding more.

the GOP-E would saddle up with Cruz then dump him at the Convention.

You guys need to get your story straight.....is Cruz a chump who's being played by the GOPe so they can get their real choice for the nomination on the second ballot, or is he, all of a sudden, the darling of the GOPe - you know, those same guys that won't work with him or talk with him?

Maybe they just hate him less than they hate Trump.

If you do so, I promise that you will control the local party and be able to install your own leaders who will make sure that Trump gets what he wants. You see, that’s the difference between working for it and lying and whining about it. I prefer the former, but Trump and a lot of his supporters appear to prefer lying and whining about it.

You are wasting our time expecting consistency from a Trump supporter. Like their hero, their stories will change from minute to minute to support whatever BS they are trying to sell at the time. And if you point it out, you are called a liar or worse.

No doubt. I’m still trying to get one of them to explain to me why Trump is loaning his campaign most of the money funding his campaign if he’s self funding. Is he expecting others to reimburse him at some point in the future? If so, who are those people and why won’t he be beholden to them? Also, where is the $600 million - $1 billion coming from to support him in the general election? If he won’t spend the money to keep his state organizations running to avoid embarrassments like Colorado and Wyoming, why do they think he’s going to come up with $1 billion to compete against Hillary and the DNC?

“If delegates choose our Nominee then voters should darn well get to vote for the delegates”

The problem with this is, what voters?

“Republicans”, you would say. But anybody can register as a Republican at any time. I registered as a Democrat in January 2008 to vote for Obama in NH (figuring he could not possibly be elected).

If the political parties are going to use idiots voting to appoint nominees, there’s going to have to be some sort of voter qualification.

Oh please, why not just post "I know you are but what am I?" Such a mature response ... NOT.

No, it proves what I said which is Cruz is nothing more than a useful idiot for the GOP-E and as I've said for quite some time, he'll get dumped at the Convention.

The only "problem" here is neither you nor Cruz seem to know it.
