About 2 ft of snow on the ground right now. Spring won’t come here in the Colorado Rockies for a few months.

Cool and damp today in Central Missouri.

I'm in an in-between stage with my garden right now. All of the early stuff is in, but it's too early to put things out that can't take a light frost.

Somehow my peach and plum trees have come through the cold nights that we've had with very little blossom damage. I thought they were doomed last Sunday night, but there was so much moisture in the air a crust of ice formed on the flowers before the temp dropped below 27 deg.

I checked one of my morel spots after work yesterday and came out with enough to fill one skillet. It was the earliest I've ever found any here. I'm thinking another week and they'll be popping out of cracks in the sidewalk.

So nice to see you back gardening.
Has anyone purchased a Grow Box:
http://www.agardenpatch.com
Thinking of purchasing one or two for our deck.
Neighbor bought last year and produced mighty fine tomatoes.

I ordered three Goji berries bushes from Michigan Bulb Company and they arrived yesterday. Quite small but healthy looking, so they will spent their first year in a big pot in our beach house/green house.
Tomatoes, peppers and other veggies are looking very good. We put off starting seeds until February 10 and it looks like their trip to the garden will coincide with good weather. Starting in January just caused too many issues in this climate...

Welcome back greeneyes. Spring has arrived in Benderville with lots of glorious sunshine and a cool wind. I spread some finished compost on a 6 x 12 patch that will likely be part of our potato pacth and done some last minute cleanup. Lady Bender has most of her annual flower seed started in the Walmart greenhouse plus a few tomatoes and Kohlrabi…

Had to water yesterday; a pain, as it meant taking jugs to the garden, then filling a watering can. 25 gallons later, it was easier to see the first pea & turnip sprouts barely poking through.

Mostly I use gallon milk jugs, or fruit juice bottles with the carry-handle, but I also have brought home several 5 gallon fryer-oil jugs from work. One sudsing, and several rinses later, they fit for water duty. Gets easier later, as once I’m certain the pump & valves won’t freeze, I can recombobulate & fill the 1,200 gallon irritation tank, then use hoses to water.

Also yesterday, the apricot buds were opening, and all three trees were alive with wild honey bees, and some bumblebees. Haven’t seen so many wild bees in several years. Also swatted the first yellowjacket of the year.
