My title. Fields told FOX she was "Violated" by the Trump camp

The Fields incident came a week after a Time magazine photographer was thrown to the floor by a Secret Service agent at another Trump rally and amid escalating concerns over the rhetoric used by the Republican frontrunner.
Trump has come under mounting criticism — from Democrats and from Republican rivals — for failing to fully denounce violent incidents at his events and for creating a climate where such incidents can persist.
Those issues were amplified in recent days after video emerged of a man at a Trump rally sucker-punching a protester leaving an event in North Carolina and fights broke out at a cancelled event in Chicago.
Trump himself has said he would like to punch a protester in the face and see another taken out on a stretcher.

No video shows her on the ground, or even close to it.
Videos show that Lewendowski may have come close enough to touch her as he followed Trump and scooted by in front of her, but did nothing violent or overly aggressive. He wasn’t even paying attention to her. Heck, you get jostled more walking on the streets of New York City.

Kudos to the NY Times for this, which is something I rarely find myself granting to that organization. For all the heat over this event, you’d think a key source document would be easier to find linked from the many stories on this. But not so. I was about ready to send an FOIA request to the town clerk, and then I found this link.

There is one video where you see him reaching for her while she is moving right to left in the frame and her progress stops abruptly and she seems to be pulled back a bit. At the same moment, his movement tracks hers in a way that suggests he stopped her and held her back/pulled her. Very hard to tell how hard he pulled, how hard his grip, etc.
As a lawyer, I can say that, outside the sphere of a setting where each person is engaged in a particular role (a bouncer and patron, eg., event security and concertgoer, eg., security at political event, eg. policeman and suspect), assault is any unwanted contact. Each of the situations that permit some level of unwanted contact is a universe of its own defined by the reasonableness of the contact or force used. I have no idea how this fits on the scale, but it is probably a lot smarter for a senior campaign staffer not to do the touching in the first place. Overall, I’d say he did a no-no but its being blown out of proportion.

Good point. When there’s a sliding scale of acceptability, it’s better to aim for the “zero” end.
A secret service agent in trail to Trump’s right is in evidence by the videos. Something occurred at the moment the agent drew close to the position occupied by Fields and the Washington Post reporter.
What incident drew the secret service agents attention, such that he fell back, and allowed Fields to enter a position of pursuit on Trump’s right side?
Lewendowski appears to realize security has been compromised, and steps obliquely to interpose himself between Trump, and someone reaching toward Trump.
