Not sure if this has been posted here yet but Keith Emerson of the 70's band Emerson, Lake and Palmer has been found dead of an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was 71 and living in California.
I heard he died but not that it was a self inflicted gunshot.
I used to like some of the music of Emerson Lake and Palmer. Sad to hear of this death.
So many talented folks have died lately.

Several still in their 80s and 90s.

RIP”
Sorry, I did a search and didn’t find it before I posted.
Last night was tough: I was angry at the protestors, greatly disappointed in Cruz's half-hearted response, and saddened at the unnecessary loss of a man who, along with the "other" Keith and Jimmy Smith, led me to a life of enjoying classical, jazz, and rock organ music.
P.S. And the other Keith? I brought him to FL in 1985 for a concert on a Frobenius pipe organ, the only one in FL AFAIK. He stayed with us for the weekend, and one thing he talked about was how he wanted to make enough money to purchase a private plane. He eventually obtained the plane, and that is how he died, crashing the plane four years later in CO.
“I heard he died but not that it was a self inflicted gunshot.”
CNSNews reported that as part of their story.
John Lord of Deep Purple :)
I just finished teaching a course in the history of rock music, and spent the better part of an hour on DP's Concerto for Rock Band and Orchestra with Lord's "cadenza" in the first movement, along with an analysis of ELP's Hoedown "cover" vis-à-vis the Copland "original." The students, most of whom could name you every famous guitarist since Elvis, had never heard of either before. What a shame.
but you’re doing your part. that’s what counts :) lazy is one of my favorite songs ever
I did not get to the concert myself but I heard in the mid-90s, they did a small venue in our town and the setting was real informal and one could talk to the band.
I was reading a review for Keith Emerson’s Christmas Album and it said he was disappointed that the album was watered down Mannheim Steamroller because Mannheim Steamroller was watered down Keith Emerson. So, agree or not, I thought that was an interesting play on words.
It is a horrible thing when anyone kills themselves. Unacceptable.
Rest In Peace.
Pictures at exhibition turned me on to Classical too and then, I got one of the Nice albums which I vaguely remember.
Awh, man. :(
THE BEST Live in JAPAN #4 Keith Emerson = Piano Solo 〜 AMERICA =
