Cool. Now do it at night in a thunderstorm.

A Lockheed 1011 could do that decades ago at an ILS facility. Great airplane.

The best most of us can do is run the sucker out of fuel and crash.

I used to love to play with MS Flight Simulator. I eventually got good enough to actually land the plane about once out of four or five tries. Those aren't exactly what I would call good odds at all.

All planes land after flying.

Can you re-use the equipment? Good landing.

Can you walk away? Good enough.

I should tell my husband about this. After 22 years of marriage, it gets old hearing about how his F.O. can’t land, and too much of the time it’s actually true.

“Yep, if you’ve never landed one with it an instructor, you are gonna crash” . . .

Sooooo. . .what about the pilots that fly a new jet?

;-)

(BTW, my first flight in the A-10 was solo. . .as they don’t make two-place trainers. . .and I didn’t crash).

first thing I’d do is try to figure out how to make the radio work, get the thing down to about 250 mph, flaps and landing gear and some place to land and get somebody on the radio to tell me how to reverse the engines after touchdown since a modern jetliner would roll forever without that....

The first point made is the location of the radio communications button. The black button circled is actually the autopilot disconnect button. Pushing it will indeed disconnect the autopilot and generate lots more problems as how to reconnect the autopilot is not mentioned.

I've done thousands of landings in hang-gliders and hundreds in light aircraft and for the life of me I never managed a successful landing with MS Flight Simulator. It is so not like flying.
