Concur,...but you know,...this is the first time in about 20 years that I feel like the American public actually has some numbers out there who will vote sincerely with ethic and conviction. Win or lose, there’s some hope left,...and that hasn’t changed.

Take a look at the national polls comparing Cruz and Trump vs. Clinton or Sanders; Cruz is showing better than most people think.

I’d really like to see Cruz as the prez, but I question if he has the massive support in the other 56 states that give him a win over Hitlery. I think that’s where the Donald would win out.

How I feel. Absent a new compelling reason that may come before June 14th, it's still going to be a coin-flip for me in the S.C. primary.

I’m not surprised at Cruz winning so much as I’m surprised that Rubio came as close as he did to taking second place.

Cruz has been in this from the start to win the Presidency.

It is not a glamour show or TV reality show.

It is real business to him to bring America back to it's republic roots.

For the first time in a long time we have a Ted thread that's not being stunk up by a bunch of Trump trolls.
Fresh air.

It was bold, needed, and it worked. His last few TV ads were great also.

I’m looking forward to the convention(s) but between then and now, I expect that there’ll be some dirty deeds being done and that they won’t be getting done cheaply.

Cruz needs to dump that loose cannon Glen Beck. Beck is disruptive and completely unpredictable. I don’t want to see Cruz at a debate trying to explain Mormon underwear and Mongo planets.

So Trump’s 45,416 votes beat both Santorum’s and Huckabee’s victory totals of 29,000 and 40,000 respectively! I would say that that was a respectable showing for someone who had no “ground game”. Marco Rubio’s total of 43,132 also beat them both.

The Trump/Cruz dust-up on FR has been contrived by political operatives for their purposes. It should not have happened in the way it has happened.

I agree, and I'd like to see it end. There is no need for FR to get into the tit for tat nonsense that is happening (on many threads) on both sides and then consistently getting out of control when it happens.

"Donald Duck has his Twitter game. Soon the insults will be coming." Really? Do we have to use silly names, even if the other person has stepped out of line on other threads? Start a comment on "the insults" with something that will be seen as an insult? Isn't it better to keep FR more amicable?

"I'm almost overwhelmed that the nasty prophesies of the Trumpeters ar found to be false." Yes, there has been nastiness, and unnecessary name calling that is not meant affectionately ("trumpeters"). Isn't it better to leave the things that can provoke nastiness in the past?

"Cruz sucks more every minute that goes by. In fact, I hope he is kicked to the curb on his Senate Seat. He has become disgrace during this welfare run he is doing" Really? It's just as bad whether it comes from the Trump side or the Cruz side.

The truth in Iowa is that some Trump people said things in Caucus sites that were true, some that were false but reported on somewhat reputable sites, and some that were false and almost certainly did not come from Trump himself, just from people losing control of their enthusiasm and getting out of hand (just like some of us on FR). The same is true for what some Cruz people said. I don't believe any of those comments were taken as Gospel truth by the listeners, although I assume they were immediately checked with Google/Bing/whatever searches to check the facts - a bonus with the smart phones that so many people at the Caucuses were using and sharing when "new" facts were claimed. Media reports that Carson was folding and going home are partly responsible for this, but that was a "reputable" media hit on Carson, not a Trump/Cruz hit.

Realistically, our choices are Cruz/Trump/Rubio/Hillary/Bernie. Of the three, I find all but Trump and Cruz completely unacceptable. I liked Walker and Carson, but I believe both of them are down for the count. I liked some others who never caught on either.

I have concerns about both Cruz and Trump, but the fact is that either one would be so much better than the felon or the socialist that there is simply no comparison. Either one would be incomparably better than the liar who campaigned as anti-immigration and then immediately joined the Gang of Eight and pushed Amnesty. We should be polite and respectful here on FR. Trump and Cruz are the two most popular candidates on the premier conservative site in the country. We should respect the differences we have and treat our fellow conservatives like adults even when we disagree on this important choice.

If you want Trump, explain why he is more electable and more worth electing, or better able to make positive deals in DC than Cruz. If you like Cruz, explain why he is more conservative, more electable, or at least sufficiently electable. We can do all that without calling Cruz "nasty" or calling Trump whatever name comes to mind. Please?

Agree with your post almost entirely. An exception is this: “We should be polite and respectful here on FR.”

I agree we should be more so polite and respectful but this is, after all, Free Republic, not ever known as a sleepy place for much cordial political discourse. Other subjects, sure. Politics and religion, not here, if anywhere.

It’s what we do. It’s WHAT we do. It’s what WE do. It’s what we DO!

Donald Duck, a name earned by Trump that I seen used on-line maybe a 100 times or more, is really too harsh for your delicate self? LoL!

I get a good laugh at silly people who think they have a moral peg they can perch on in defense of disgusting Donald Duck who is on Twitter insulting people constantly. And I mean real insults, stupid, loser, liar, jerk, etc.

Can't believe of all the insults hurled at Cruz, his wife, his religion, his birth, someone is crying to me about Donald Duck.

I am done with it.....at least for now. lol. I think I just needed the first state out of the way. For some reason I am relaxed moreso then the last month. I still am for Donald Trump and I do find it funny that people are thinking he is done......not hardly. He came in 2nd place in a state where he should have gotten Huckabee numbers. This state was made for Cruz and he spent 2 years and a ton of money to win by 4 points. Good for him but I am not thinking it will help him in New Hampshire by much.

He really has to stop the sermons though. I mean 40 minutes for a win in one state. He acted like he won the Presidency. I was interested for 20 minutes and then I just waited for him to stop which he never did. I can’t imagine what his State of the Unions would be like.....probably go on until 2 in the morning.

Crus 8 delegates - Trump 7 delegates - Rubio 7 delegates

That is what matters in Iowa. Cruz is winning by 1 delegate and congratulations to him for that.
