And she was friendly and an icon of that area. Even if she was not friendly, wouldn’t want to see her injured. Poor cat.

On the one hand, it seems a bit much for mourning a cat.
On the other hand, I’d like to find the person who did this and do the exact same thing to them.

There are people here at Free Republic that think something like this (animal torture) is a perfectly acceptable form of entertainment.
I've read their posts for years. In their minds, a family dog or cat is the exact same thing as a germ, or a cockroach, or a spatula.
Some people are just cruel and weird.
