Amur the Siberian Tiger Strikes Back At Bully Goat Timur

How long can you bully a tiger? Quite a while, in the case of Timur the goat and his big cat pal Amur who live together in a safari park.

The unlikely bromance hit the headlines in November when Timur was sent into the predator's enclosure as one of the feline's twice-weekly meals of live animals. The goat obviously did not know he was meant to be afraid of tigers and gave a horned rebuttal to attempts to eat him.

Facebook Twitter Google Plus Embed FROM DEC. 4: Feisty Goat Still in Charge in Tiger's Cage 0:21 On Friday, Amur the Siberian tiger finally hit back. After weeks of gentle bullying and at least an hour of outright aggression, the feline grabbed the goat by the scruff of the neck, shook and then tossed it down a small hill in their enclosure.

Admittedly, Timur had spent an hour walking on the tiger, poking him with horns and trying to push him around, Primorsky Safari Park in Russia's far southeastern corner announced.

"Amur did not assault Timur. The tolerant Amur taught a lesson to the impudent Timur," the park said in a statement.

The goat has now been removed from their shared enclosure.

A female may be behind the current spat. Amur's sister Taiga, who lives adjacent to the duo, is in heat, which can seriously affect the behavior of males around her, according to park officials.

Until this week's tussle, the pair had been living comfortably and even playing "soccer" together with an old ball.

And rather than becoming dinner, Timur has eaten so well that he's begun to suffer from obesity.

Cute story.

That goat is a mean bully! They get their comeuppance eventually.

The asshat next to us years ago had a male goat perpetually in an excited state.

The goat escaped often, and one particular instance the goat smashed through our back gate, and headed for our fully glass enclosed Atrium patio room.

I had been ill for awhile at the time, and in a weakened condition had to wrestle the damned goat, and drag it in excess of 300 feet off the property, and then hold the gates closed while he repeatedly head butted the gate until he finally left, and I could then repair the damage.

I no sooner had the gate repositioned, and fortified, and heard my wife screaming in the front. I ran to the front to find the goat was smashing his head into the North gate trying to get in once again.

I haven’t to this day any idea what prompted the goat to come onto our property, or try to, but I did succeed in keeping him out this time while my wife called the county animal control to come get the goat.

The goat stunk to high heaven as it was quartered with chickens, and a rooster on the property North of us, and as the Rooster had taught the goat what to do with chickens from the perspective of a Rooster the goat was in a perpetual state of excitement shall we say, thus he stunk like ‘H’.

The county refused to come for the goat unless it was injured. Fortunately for us a dog belonging to another neighbor grabbed the goat by the leg with his teeth, and pulled it opening up a wound, so now the county was able to come out for the injured goat.

The End.

Nothing stinks as bad IMO as a male goat in a state of amore.

If they are fixed, they don’t have that billy goat smell. We have had male goats that were detesticalized and they were so sweet, docile and didn’t smell.

I know. It is beyond stink or ‘bad odor’. It’s like some kind of toxic gas.

I use to raise angora goats. they have a regular breeding season...The smell is from them urinating on their underbelly, almost constantly....for some dumb reason the female goats like it and allows them to breed....after all the females have been bred, he loses interest and quits peeing all over himself....angora males smell in late summer....you can catch a whiff from 20 feet away...

I know it must have been trying - but that whole anecdote made me laugh.

What you needed, was a Siberian tiger.
