Iowa likely caucus-goers did not care that Donald Trump sat out the final Republican debate in Des Moines, according to the DMR / Bloomberg poll.
46% of respondents, the plurality, said they did not care that Trump had sat the debate out. 24% approved of the decision while 29% disapproved.
But a Cruz attack on Trumpâs use of eminent domain to clear way for property development appeared to hit home. 60% of respondents said they were bothered by the eminent domain attack.
Expect to see more of that attack.
The poll also asked voters which issues bothered them most about each candidate. It turns out that Ted Cruzâs previously undisclosed acceptance of a loan from Goldman Sachs in his 2012 Senate campaign bothered 54% of respondents. 44% said the loan did not bother them.

Carson 10 -1
Bush 9 nc
Paul 5 nc
The rest 3 & under
we’ll see who wins the riot, er, caucus.
Today in Clinton rally, he asked public which issue bothers you most Canada Ted or Goldman Sac. Public was 80% Canada Ted and 70% Goldman Sac.
All these issues are good enough to win.
I didn’t care that Trump sat out the debate. I will vote for Cruz either way.
GO TED CRUZ! VOTE TED CRUZ!
Bush @ 9nc?
He’s at 2!!! LOL
My bad, I reposted.
And the last nail in the coffin prior to the final, official eulogy for the GOPe.
Roger that. Thanks!
I would be laughing my head off if this is where he actually finishes on Monday night. All those tens of millions of dollars spent and all for nothing.
-—about DMR poll
I think Ann probably underestimated Trump. I think she is old style telephone pollster who hasn’t come to grips with new technology. The poll didn’t predict a “groundswell” of new voters and still had Trump +5. If you look at older polls, DMR always over estimate Cruz compared to other polls. I think we’ll probably see Trump +9 or so on Monday.
Rick Santorum won Iowa in 2012. Mike Huckabee won in 2008.
I would have had a better chance of getting elected to the White House than either of those guys.
So don't be surprised if someone comes out of nowhere to win Iowa next week.
Chances of Rubio to come 2nd and Cruz slides to 3rd. Rand is also doing well.
Cruz is making lot of mistakes.
Other years, yeah. Not this year. Everything we’ve seen for six months says this just ain’t “politics as usual.” And if anything, we are seeing a visceral disgust for “party insiders” and traditional pols in both races.
Hillary just got endorsed by Gabby Giffords.
Maybe +9 of Rubio instead... Besides Drudge is now posting the shaming letter now that the IA SoS has complained
I seem to remember observing that second-tier candidates from middle America tend to do better in Iowa than anywhere else.
Point taken.
A caucus is a lot different than a regular vote.
Regardless of who wins Iowa, a couple of months from now, no one is going to remember or care about the result. But for now, the hype by the media and the candidates is hysterical.
Trump had made election interesting. Never cared that much before. Now, I am worried about future. Another 4 yrs of Dem or GOPe will destroy future.
Someone here predicted the DMR would come straight on this last one so they can say they got the order right after months of dishonesty.
The GLOBALISTS have done such a good job of brainwashing over the decades, making NATIONALISM a dirty word, AMERICA the villain, tariffs a dirty word, capitalism a dirty word, and sometimes even Christian and Jew dirty words (following Marxist doctrine).
STUFF IT, GLOBALISTS! The not-so-silent majority in the United States of America is waking up, and we are mad as Hell over the crap you have been trying to pull . . . actually, for about the last 100 years.
Even if Trump fails to get elected for some reason, this American nationalist movement will CONTINUE TO RISE, and is going to kick ass. But IF HE IS ELECTED . . .
