Today will be the fish or cut bait day for Fox News. Will they drop Megyn Kelly and hand Trump a victory so the show can go on or will they host a debate that will have virtually no viewership.
Ailes must be under immense pressure from advertisers who have already purchased time slots at higher prices which reflect higher viewership estimates.
I can't see how he cannot cave.

What they won’t do is disinvite the “Muslim-American” hit woman who is going to grill Trump on his “hate agenda.”
That is about the dirtiest trick they could have come up with.
Fox is stuck. Trump won’t reverse, he has face to save too. The debate will go on unless Fox cancels it. The other candidates are painted in too, by claiming Trump is a chicken. They can’t bail without becoming what they claim Trump is.
To my knowledge Trump doesn’t produce the debates, so they will go on with or without him.
I swear, if this goes on much longer here at FR, I will start watching Megyn Kelly.
Ailels better hope there is a “no cancellation” clause in the advertisers contracts.
I don’t really care. It will do more harm to Megynnnnn and Fox than it will Trump. No one who was going to vote for Trump will be swayed one way or the other IMO, nor will some other voter who already hates Trump think any more the less of him. Haters gonna hate.

The debate will go on as scheduled. Why should Fox cancel?
When it comes to Trump, love him or hate him, you got to admit...this is pure Genius.
The people who care about the issues will watch. If viewership is down, so be it. Let the folks who worship celebrity go watch something else.

i would like to see if Trump can handle MK - so i can tell if he can handle Rouhani, Putin - this seems high drama to me. i don’t want it to be about Trump - it should be about the people and the nation.
I am guessing that Fox will either cut the ad prices for advertisers to reflect the lower viewership...or face suits as advertisers try to cut their losses.
I suspect the ad buys are already contracted and in the books. Unless there’s proviso that Trump is in the mix, they’ll go forward.
Trump handled a number of reporters in his appearance in Marshalltown, Iowa last night. It seems to me that Trump knows how to handle reporters.
