Donald Trump says that former senator Scott Brown, one of the most liberal Republicans, would make a great Vice President.
Donald Trump said Saturday that Scott Brown would be a vice president straight out of "central casting."
"You know what? He's central casting," Trump replied, nodding. "Look at that guy! He's central casting! A great guy and a beautiful wife and a great family. So important!"
So who is Scott Brown? First of all, Scott Brown is a big loser. He filled the partial term of Teddy Kennedy, and was defeated for reelection in Massachusetts; then he carpetbagged over to New Hampshire, and lost a senate race there. It's inconceivable that Trump would call a two-time loser great VP material. But even more, Scott Brown is extremely liberal:
Brown does not support President Obama's health care reform plan in its current form as approved by the Democratic-led House and Senate. [But] Brown supported the 2006 Massachusetts health care reform, which requires all residents to have health insurance, with a state-subsidized plan created for those who cannot afford to insure themselves. Brown refers to the currently legalized same-sex marriage in New Hampshire as a settled issue, which he does not wish to change.[12] Brown has said he personally believes marriage is between a man and a woman, but would still oppose a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage.[114] He is in favor of civil unions.[ Brown has stated that Roe v. Wade is settled law and is self-described as pro-choice.
Why would Trump, who claims he has given up his New York values based support for partial-birth abortion to become pro-life, consider a man for VP who is pro-abortion, and so liberal on so many other issues?
This is especially worrisome because Trump will have the opportunity, if elected President, to make several Supreme Court picks. What if he picks liberals for those too? It was a bit unnerving when he said his sister, who is an extremely liberal judge, would be a "phenomenal" Supreme Court pick.
Trump is basically a liberal, except possibly on the issue of immigration (I say possibly because we cannot know until we see how many "good ones" are invited to return in an expedited fashion).
He can't be a first choice for any sane conservative. Only Trump-bots, who say that Trump never really means what he actually says, can buy this stuff.

In other news he could also pick Oprah.
Next week it will be Jesse Ventura
Then he asked me about Barack Obama. I told him that Barack will need to be a great president because we're in serious trouble as a country. It hasn't been this way since 1929. So he doesnât have much choice- he will simply have to be great, which he has a very good chance of being.
What he has done is amazing. The fact that he accomplished what he has- in one year and against great odds--is truly phenomenal.
If someone had asked me if a black man or woman could become president, I would have said yes, but not yet. Barack Obama proved that determination combined with opportunity and intelligence can make things happen- and in an exceptional way. He is not walking into an easy or enviable situation.
As of October of 2008, the U.S. government reported a $237 billion deficit. The good news is that Obama seems to be well aware of the situation. His comments have led me to believe that he understands how the economy works on a comprehensive level.
He has also surrounded himself with very competent people, and that's the mark of a strong leader. I have confidence he will do his best, and we have someone who is serious about resolving the problems we have and will be facing in the future. To me that is very good news.
After 9/11, this country received a lot of compassion from countries and people around the world. Within a short amount of time, however, we were hated. How did that happen? We had no dialogue with other countries because they just plain hated us.
What's different today is that we have a new chance, a new beginning. The world is excited about Barack Obama and the new United States. Let's keep it that way.
Scott is much more conservative than he is liberal.
It’s strange what you find to post.
Caught myself. “Scott Brown,” not “Scott Walker!”
I stand corrected.
It’s all good, Trump never really means what he actually says,
Oprah is as qualified as Trump is. She is a self made multi billionaire who didn’t have the Trump family money to get her started or to bail her out several times.
And, like Trump, she’s a liberal.
Yep, a NE RINO ticket always works, just ask prez Mitt.
Scott Brown is straight out of central casting. That’s how he won the one election.
Bad choice.
Trump should have continued to not talk about it.
Other than forcing the discussion to restoring American greatness and controlling the southern invasion, Trump should be running for Homecoming King. Good God, what a shallow, banal and trite person. How in the world could he possibly bring up such trivialities?
I should go back and pull threads right after his election. He was a “magnificent bastard.”
Just like Karl Rove was in ‘04.
How soon we forget.
That's funny ... Mitt Romney said the same thing about his protege .....
He was only being polite. See the other threads on this, or just check out yesterday’s speech. It comes right at the beginning, I think, so you don’t have to watch that much of it.
Review the speech and see how this happened. Trump did not bring it up on his own. The whole thing is news creation out of whole cloth.
The son of a bitch thinks he has it won if he is seriously considering another Northeasterner.
I feel bad about those Freepers who were jumping for joy once this RIMO was elected but he couldnt do the simple job of ending Odumbocare...and the only good thing I like about the whole situation is that SB’s daughter is hot.
The Democrats never gave him the chance, they used reconciliation to pass Obamacare before he could be seated.
Don’t forget about Mark Cuban... he wants in on the VP consideration action too.
Silly talk. Get over it.
