Full title: Disgraced ex-politician John Edwards back practicing law and now vying to lead 'goldmine' case against Volkswagen over emissions cheating
Former vice presidential candidate John Edwards is competing to lead private litigation against Volkswagen over its emissions cheating scandal.
The former U.S. Senator, a Democrat, was a trial lawyer in North Carolina before his political career was felled by a sex scandal after it emerged he had an affair with actress Rielle Hunter - who then gave birth to their daughter.
Last Friday, he sent a letter to U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer of San Francisco asking to be appointed to the powerful plaintiffs' steering committee.
The case, which lumps together class action suits on behalf of more than 500,000 Volkswagen owners or lease-holders, is being touted as a 'goldmine' for lawyers.

How this guy lives with himself everyday is beyond me. He dumped his wife and she died of cancer what a pig. If he were Japanese he would have done himself in for the shame of it all.

Somehow it seems appropriate that he is now apparently living in California. Like flocks to like after all!
As an interested party in this imbroglio, the thought of this slime participating lakes me shudder.
I’d JUST LOVE to be on jury in this case. VW would have absolutely NOTHING to worry about, except maybe losing 1 dollar. I suck up to the judge and anyone else, but then, when it’s my turn, it’s 1 dollar, at most.
The press knew everything about Edwards BEFORE the National Enquirer printed pictures. They held back because Edwards was a Democrat.
