The school points out however that they did notify parents that their children would be getting henna tattoos as part of Multicultural Day, where they also learned about the cultures of Spain, the United States, Australia and Israel.

Ms. Samour told Click 2 Houston that while the family did receive this email from the school, it was her husband who read it and it made no difference as neither one of them had heard of henna tattoos.

This mother is not too bright.

Would it not have been better if the school had sent out notices that they were considering marking children with temporary tatoos, and they needed the parent’s permission to do so?

At least, that would seem to be the preferred option, and one which was usually the default modus operandi in years past.

Or, perhaps, she is simply someone who has never heard of such a thing as a 'henna' tatoo.

'Untaught' or 'Unknown About' is not the same thing as...

"Unintelligent."

No, she’s not bright but I would not have done henna on any child without written permission.

It should have required a signed permission slip to allow it, not inform the parents that it's happening and if they object to say so.
