Daily News declares ‘everything is awesome!’

Tabloid tries sarcasm in gun control debate

The New York Daily News did it again. The tabloid newspaper stirred controversy last week when it published a provocative cover criticizing the prayers offered by several prominent Republicans in the wake of the deadly mass shooting in San Bernardino, Calif., with the headline "God isn't fixing this."

On Monday, the Daily News published another controversial cover, sarcastically declaring, "Everything is awesome!" in response to those, like members of the National Rifle Association, who refuse to consider stricter gun control measures to combat gun violence.

The cover addressed the headline "to all those who have been offended by hearing the truth about our nation's gun scourge & the NRA & cowardly pols who think nothing's wrong." Jim Rich, the paper's editor-in-chief, says the message is "crystal clear." "Gun violence in this country — specifically random mass shootings — has reached sickening proportions," Rich told Yahoo News.

OK Daily News, time to walk the walk. Publish some cartoons of Muhammad and announce that your building will no longer have armed security, then wait for the Religion of Peace to go all Charlie Hebdo on your "news" room. You will never give up your armed security, but will never shut up about demanding law biding citizens doing so.

The new NRA ads are very moving to me.

They have done a great job.

They cut right to the chase of why 2nd Am. is so very important and differentiates America from the rest of the world.

FU United Nations. FU.

The Daily News building, there she sits at 220 East 42nd Street between Second and Third Avenues *for informational purposes only*. A fine example of art deco. It was used as the fictional Daily Planet bldg. in the Superman TV shows and declared a Nat'l Landmark. What a damn shame if something were to happen to it. Interestingly, when Ayn Rand was working on The Fountainhead she described this building in her notes as "one of the ugliest, flattest, most conventional, meaningless, unimaginative, and uninspiring" of the buildings in the architecture book she was consulting.

“God isn’t fixing this.”

Hence the phrase, “Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition”.

Some people need to learn to value freedom. I’ll take a free economy even if it meant being poorer. I’ll take freedom to bear arms even if it meant a greater risk. Safety, security, or wealth are worthless if you aren’t free.
