There are two main reasons grains need to be eliminated from the diet. The first reason is that most grains are genetically modified (GMO), which causes the denaturing of proteins and carbohydrates to the point where your body does not recognize them as foods. Your immune system will create an inflammatory reaction in response to these denatured foods. There is much media attention about gluten today. Gluten is just one denatured protein in grains that is causing a host of problems at the cellular level. Many consumers are hearing about the dangers of gluten, and are selecting other grains that also contain denatured proteins and sugars. Unfortunately these grains have higher sugar content. All grains and sugar must be eliminated until the inflammation of the cell membrane (the real reason for premature aging and disease) is reduced.

This video is one in a series of videos and websites which are being posted on FreeRepublic in the coming days in regard to nutritional health. In the beginning these videos were being posted as a rebuttal to an article and comments in another posted article on FreeRepublic remarking on obesity. Due to the strong interest in obesity and nutritional health as it relates to Type II Diabetes, the videos relating to Type II diabetes and how to reverse the progression of the disease are being moved forward among the other video topics in this series. Expect to see a mixture of videos regarding the role of carbohydrates in the diet and their relationship to nutritional health topics ranging from metabolic syndrome and Diabetes to dementia, Parkinson's Disease, Altzheimer's Disease, and more. The effects of standard government sponsored diets, health association diets, and alternative diets upon everyday nutrition, sports nutrition, and diabetic nutrition will be mixed in with videos focused on the use of various low carbohydrate and high fat (LCHF) diets, such as the ketogenic diets as a treatment for Type II Diabetes.
Anyone who is interested in following this series of posts about nutritional health is invited to request a ping.

Ping
Bovine excrement. I say that as a health food nut myself
Ping please
I haven't looked at most of these, but this guy was particularly good.
Attia got me into the research going on that positions many cancers as a metabolic disease.
That is, 99% of us are on a glycogen (sugar/carbohydrate) diet, which breeds cancers if we are disposed genetically or environmentally to cancer.
A preventive or treatment option is the ketogenic (fat based) diet.
That is what I'm looking into now.
I read somewhere that high-quality rye bread is a good nutritional choice for people who are skeptical about whole grains.
Agreed.
One of the things this Dr. Daniel Pompa had to say that caught my special attention was his assertions about the effects of these grain and GMO products had upon the gene expression in the gut flora. He asserts the genetic modifications in these products has a number of bad effects not present in the ancestral grains. Many people have argued that nothing was wrong with using pasta in the diet, because the Italians eat pasta and have a reputation for great health and longevity of life. In this video they note that was possible in part because the grains the Italians are using in their pasta are made from the ancestral grains and not from these GMO modified grains and flours. Supposedly the contents of the GMO grains modify the gene expressions in the gut flora and produces super sugars that lead to chronic high blood sugar levels and all of the consequent metabolic diseases such as diabetes, neurological disorders, cancers, Parkinson’s Disease and so forth. If this information were to turn out to be true, the ramifications would be startling to say the least.
It is also rather interesting to note that I recall this type of controversy about the grains being used in pasta back in 1975. I started to make homemade pasta with imported Italian flour because of the reported health differences. Now I know more about why those recommendations were already being made all the way back in 1975.
“I read somewhere that high-quality rye bread is a good nutritional choice for people who are skeptical about whole grains.”
So did I, and I love rye bread. After taking it out of the diet, the blood sugar levels improved. After removing all of the healthy whole grains and all of the healthy rice, the blood sugar levels improved even more.
Note, when one of these researchers went to find the nutritionist the U.S. Government contracted with to create the official food pyramid, he found and interviewed her. What she had to say astounded him. She said the U.S. Government took her food pyramid and turned it upside down. Her pyramid had a small amount of provisional grains in the tip of the food pyramid. The U.S. Government flipped it upside down, put the grains and breads in the bottom of the pyramid and made multiple servings, the exact opposite of her professional nutritional advice. The reason given for the U.S. Government’s actions was the effect her food pyramid would have upon the Federal Food Stamp program.
Nothing better on this earth than high gluten Italian bread - big holes, airy, deeeelicious!
Stop overeating and follow Jesus, you’ll be alright.
Bttt.
Whole grains are good for keeping your stools firm. Apart from that, I’m not convinced they have any bearing at all on health, except that if you consume them to the exclusion of real foods (proteins) you’re probably going to get sick because your immune system will not have the resources to do what it does so well.
In the 1970's agriculture came up with a variety of wheat that was more efficient to grow, more bushels per acre, but contained gluten. It was not GMO, that technology did not exist. As I understand it.
From what I'm reading, getting blood sugar level down is crucial beyond diabetes treatment, i.e. cancer and other diseases. I'm at 90 now and want to hit 70.
Good grief, we've been eating wheat with gluten in it for ten thousand years or more. The ancestral grains you wax nostalgic for would drop their seeds in order to propagate. If humans were going to use these seeds to feed themselves, the wheat stalks would have to hold on to their seeds. Thus began genetic modification. Every agricultural product you can think of has been genetically modified. They are all GMO, even the Italian wheat used to make flour for pasta.
With less than 30 carbs a day my blood sugar has gone from 170+ to consistently below 100. I am insulin free for the first time in 20 years. My Dr. supports my effort but warns me of the difficulty of maintaining a carb free diet long term. I am looking for help.
No, they`ve been hybridized but they are not GMO. The GMO crops used now have been altered by recombinant technique and the difference is not even apple to oranges, more like apples to bacteria. But then again I suppose the ancient Egyptians did cross breed Triticum aestivum with Bacillus thuringiensis, didn`t they?
A distinction without much of a difference. With modern methods of genetic engineering we can get the desired trait in the first attempt and not waste time. Older methods required trial and error, and we never knew exactly what we'd get. Many times we ended up with something that was actually dangerous for human consumption. Every modern technique we use today was learned from nature.
Norman Borlaug was a champion of modern techniques of using genetic engineering in food. Unlike his few critics, Borlaug understood that these scientific advances could save hundreds of millions, possibly billions, from starvation. He saved more lives than any other man in history. Every agricultural product you eat is GMO. That is a scientific fact, and it continues to improve and save lives throughout the world. Even the Luddites should understand this, but many don't..
“The first reason is that most grains are genetically modified (GMO), which causes the denaturing of proteins and carbohydrates to the point where your body does not recognize them as foods.”
That’s a load of horse poop. People with no scientific knowledge should refrain from making such ridiculous statements.
Proof of the dumbing down of America: Tell a lie often enough and people will believe it.
You are free to eat rocks and twigs all you want but don’t spread lies about food to others, they might end up believing your nonsense.
