You`re ignoring the simple fact that much of the genetic material transferred comes from life that does not even have the same body plans, hell, we may even be talking eukaryotes and prokaryotes. BT, isn`t that a prokaryotic form? And what`s a grass? I mean they do have membrane bound organelles, right? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domain_(biology)

You`re ignoring the simple fact that much of the genetic material transferred comes from life that does not even have the same body plans That's been happening in nature for a long time. It's funny to me that some people believe that "natural" is better than genetically modified (or unnatural). I will note that these same people are probably alive today because some unnatural medicine saved their lives at one time. Dying from smallpox was considered natural until scientists used advanced technology to prevent it.
Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) is produced naturally in soil. If you consume plants grown in soil, then you're also consuming Bt. The horror.....but it's natural! It's a wonder you're still alive. Bt won't hurt you, unless you're an insect, but the mycotoxins produced by corn borers absolutely can.
Your fears are irrational.
