I read the books as a kid in the 1950’s and recently re-read all them courtesy of the Kindle version. I don’t remember seeing them on television.

I don't remember Space Cadet,
but I do remember Space Patrol,
which was on the radio in 1952.
It came on Saturdays along with
Big John and Sparky.

I saved up some cereal boxtops
and sent off for a plasma pistol
not unlike the one in the picture.
You put flour in it so when you
pulled the trigger, a puff of white
came out the barrel.

I don’t know. But I wonder why the kid
is threatening to shoot the women.

Astro was the Anthony Dinozzo of his era: easy to despise but every one in awhile he did something decent for someone else. But at blastoff, he always stood. I always thought that was kind of dumb. RIP, Astro.

Jan Merlin played Cadet Roger Manning on the show. Roger Manning was a "wise guy" sort of a trouble maker.

I had a very cool cardboard spaceship from whichever one was the show on TV. Space helmet, the works. My Father was an engineer for the NACA, npw NASA, during WWll. He encouraged my interest.
