This video is one in a series of videos and websites which are being posted on FreeRepublic in the coming days in regard to nutritional health. In the beginning these videos were being posted as a rebuttal to an article and comments in another posted article on FreeRepublic remarking on obesity. Due to the strong interest in obesity and nutritional health as it relates to Type II Diabetes, the videos relating to Type II diabetes and how to reverse the progression of the disease are being moved forward among the other video topics in this series. Expect to see a mixture of videos regarding the role of carbohydrates in the diet and their relationship to nutritional health topics ranging from metabolic syndrome and Diabetes to dementia, Parkinson's Disease, Altzheimer's Disease, and more. The effects of standard government sponsored diets, health association diets, and alternative diets upon everyday nutrition, sports nutrition, and diabetic nutrition will be mixed in with videos focused on the use of various low carbohydrate and high fat (LCHF) diets, such as the ketogenic diets as a treatment for Type II Diabetes.
Anyone who is interested in following this series of posts about nutritional health is invited to request a ping.

Bummer
Thank you.
This will be “true,” until it is no longer “true.”
Sure thing. 1st thing Friday morning!!
CBS is your source for health information?? Do you go to your doctor for vehicle maintenance too?
Little knowledge for ya: Your body cannot live without sugar, or salts, or fats.
I’ve been watching these videos, thanks for posting. I am down 13 pounds in 2 weeks and feel very good! Your how we get fat video triggered me to try low carb again!

... oh crap.
Appreciate your input, I cut out sugar, refined flour and processed foods after a diagnosis of diabetes Type 2. Lost more than a stone in weight and diabetes totally under control.
No medication, just doing what is best for the body, and anyone can do it.
Sugar also causes global warming.

[[Sobering report. If you have cancer, you should avoid sugar of any kind.]]
And die a miserable sugarless death by the cancer anyways- no thanks
I understand That the article is talking about people who have cancer being at greater risk of dying from it- but what is the %? What increase? 2-3% increase? Are there not other factors in play that could be skewing the results like other food choices while eating sugar? How do we know that those who ‘gave up sugar’ didn’t also start on other regimes like excursive, taking multivitimins, eating certain foods/diets/ etc that could have had a significant influence on the results?
If I get cancer, and If Chemo doesn’t work- oh well, it’s been a fine life- filled with pleasures such as drinking pepsi and eating smarties candies- I’m certainly not going to worry over a 1-2-3 % increase in survival rates that MAY BE helped by a sugarless diet because quite frankly, life would SUCK without sugar anyways! (and caffeine!)
What’s with all the cancer posts? Did you just get diagnosed or something? I survived colon cancer, but I didn’t try to get into everybody else’s business. As Dear Abby used to say MYOB.
I literally just ate a fun size packet of M&Ms.
Screwed.
Sugar was a mainstay during my youth in the 50’s as well as my parents before me...........
For the last week I am following a regimen which has dropped my blood glucose readings by 25 points in just one week! It has also reduced my blood pressure, which means I can now stop taking HBP meds. My glucose readings were 105-110 range upon waking up in the morning. Now they are 80-85! I am sold on this method. It is based on copying eating habits of our ancestors. Our genes have a history of a million years programmed into them. American eating habits are nothing like the Paleo regimen of eating. This is not a diet. It is about when to eat food/drink with calories.
Appreciate these posts on health. Keep up the good work.
As for the naysayers, ignore them(or if you can, educate them). People like to flock to a thread and put their ignorance on display for others to see.
btw, have you read Grain Brain by David Perlmutter?
No more baked potatoes...even with no toppings?
(I think it's the x-rays or something).
bkmk
