An Illinois bride died just minutes after saying "I do" to the love of her life when the motorcycle she and her groom were riding to their reception crashed, family said.
Jana Miles-Burnett exchanged vows with William Burnett, 31, in a city park in Buckner, Illinois about 6:30 p.m. Saturday ...
It was during the procession that a deer ran onto the road and into the newlyweds' lane, causing a crash that threw Miles-Burnett, 40, to the ground ...

Damn deer. When are the freaking insurance companies going to sue the states for damages from all the money they have to pay due to deer and the states law that you can’t kill deer except for very strict rules. I am stunned that nobody has tried to do that.
>>How horribly sad. :(<<
Agreed — but there is a reason paramedics call motorcycles “donor-cycles.”

Unless you could prove that hunting rules would eradicate every single deer then it would be impossible to say “had you allowed more hunting, this particular deer would not have run into the road.”

Terrible news, so sorry for the groom and family. That said, I used to ride, but one day when I was about 55 years old, it just really dawned on me how vulnerable I was, and that was it. I sold the bike.
“Agreed â but there is a reason paramedics call motorcycles âdonor-cycles.â”
Because they are idiots? Inconvenient fact. The majority of donors (head injury victims) come from inside cars.

Back in the day we also talked about people committing Suzukicide.
Oh Deer how sad Prayers up
Yet, if you kill a dear deer, out of season or unlicensed- you have the full weight of state and federal laws, kicking the crap out of your life, for A VERY LONG TIME. Regardless of necessity.
I went thru that same thing. Bought a new Harley after years away from bikes. It wasn’t long and after a few close calls I felt real vulnerable. T-Bone me in my truck at 30 mph, no problem. T-Bone me on the Harley.............
I’m working on an insensitive joke for this thread with the punchline “no eye deer”. I need some help.
I hit a deer once in a small crap rental car. I barely held control to get it to the shoulder. I cannot imagine hitting one with a bike. What a sad situation for the family.
That is probably because cars are a hundred times more abundant than motorcycles are on the roads. There are probably also more car accident victims than Russian Roulette victims in any given year, but that fact doesn’t make driving more dangerous than playing Russian Roulette.

Have a citation?

Well, they could fine the deer for running into the road but deer are notoriously low-income and few survive the encounter.
I gave up riding my bicycle for the same reason.
If five car people die of head injuries and only one motorcycle person dies of head injuries, what have we learned?
That the vast majority of head injury deaths happen in cars (83%!) and that 100% more head injury deaths happen on motorcycles than in cars.
