This Video Proves Ben Carson Lied Right to America's Face in the GOP Debate

During the Republican presidential debate on CNBC, Dr. Ben Carson was asked about his involvement with Mannatech, a medical supplement company. He was specifically asked about how endorsing their product would reflect on his judgement, since they had been subject to a government probe for wrongdoing.

Carson denied he was connected to the company in any way other than as a fan of their products.

That was a lie. Carson promoted the company in speeches, and in a video presentation:

In the video, Carson hailed the company:

'The wonderful thing about a company like Mannatech is that they recognize that when God made us, He gave us the right fuel. And that fuel was the right kind of healthy food.'

He also spoke on their behalf:

Carsons interactions with Mannatech, a nutritional-supplement company based in suburban Dallas, date back to 2004, when he was a speaker at the companys annual conferences, MannaFest and MannaQuest. He also spoke at Mannatech conferences in 2011 and 2013, and spoke about glyconutrients in a PBS special as recently as last year.

Mannatech has also had brushes with the law. In 2004 a woman sued Mannatech while alleging that a company salesman had shared nude photos of her son who had Tay-Sachs disease and had taken their supplements, claiming that it had helped him gain weight. The same salesman was also accused of writing in a medical journal that the supplements had helped the child while he had already passed away. In the lawsuit it was also alleged that the company used photos of the child on its website to promote its products, 'with the clear inference that [the boy] was alive and doing well some seven years after his actual death.'

The company was also sued by Texas attorney general who accused Mannatech of marketing that exaggerated the health benefits of its supplements. Mannatech paid a $4 million settlement without admitting wrongdoing.

That is the company that Carson got in bed with, and that history probably explains why he lied in the CNBC debate about his poor decision making.

I see since you are incapable of making rational arguments for your candidate, you are now reduced to these sorts of childish personal attacks postings.

Just an utterly epic fail posting on your part.

I’m sure it doesn’t matter to some Carson supporters that he told a whopper right to America’s face, but the guy shilling for the supplement company in this video is Ben Carson.

I support Cruz, but I still have the ability to be objective. You can’t even admit it when your candidate tells a bald faced lie.

The government “investigating” does not make the company a wrongdoer.

Carson was also dishonest with Chris Wallace when Wallace asked him about wanting to dismantle Medicare and replace it with a $2000 annual cradle-to-the-grave government subsidy.

Carson denied wanting to end Medicare, which he as advocating just the week before.

==

There have been several issues/comments Carson has tried to walk back.

The trouble with too many ‘walk backs’ is that it makes people wonder what he actually does believe/stand for.

“I believe he got $40,000 speakers fee x 3 sessions. And who knows what else. I think I read that he takes this stuff.”

He said he does and said he thinks it is a good product. He said that yesterday in the debate.

“I support Cruz, but I still have the ability to be objective.”

If you take this article seriously, then, no, you do not have the ability to be objective.

(I am a Cruz supporter).

ANOTHER LIE:

Carson’s story of a personal encounter with firearms is just weird. “I have had a gun held on me when I was in a Popeyes organization,” he told an interviewer, referring to the fried chicken chain. “Guy comes in, put the gun in my ribs. I just said, ‘I believe that you want the guy behind the counter.’”

It is unclear what happened next. And it is unclear to me, frankly, that this really happened, though Carson swears it did. For one thing, Carson is a vegetarian; his campaign says he went to Popeyes for French fries. I wonder if he also goes to KFC to get coleslaw.

Disturbingly, Carson is a fan of dark conspiracies. Witness his claim that Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas, Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and Russian President Vladimir Putin got to know each other in Moscow in 1968. All of them, he claims, were at Patrice Lumumba University at the time.

PolitiFact looked into the matter and found one meager shred of evidence that Abbas might have attended the university, though no indication of when; zero evidence that Khamenei ever studied in Moscow; and the inconvenient fact that Putin was 16 at the time. PolitiFact’s verdict: “Pants on Fire!”

SO... you’re saying Carson didn’t lie, and that it isn’t him in the video ?

There are several articles out today on Ben’s Whopper. This one provided the Video of Carson endorsing the product for which he was paid. You really have to be in denial to deny what is in front of you in an infomercial.

Watch the video. Is that a Ben Carson impersonator? This is not the only article. This is just the first one that included the video.

Carson lied through his teeth about this and also about his position on Medicare. He also changed position on ethanol.

He is completely unstable on the issues.

Did you watch the video? It’s really creepy. I’m glad this substance makes Ben Carson feel better but I’m not moved to try it. This is a three minute spotlight, hard sell and devoid of objective content. Strange references to how G_d made us and the diet he planned for us. I’m frankly appalled at a presumptive scientist speaking in this very unscientific manner.
