An Oklahoma woman from Woodward just posted the rescue video to YouTube.
Watch her interview with KFOR below
Watch as a maroon vehicle crosses the road suddenly, a kitten drops from the undercarriage onto the street.
It takes the female biker a few seconds to notice the kitten, which was nearly crushed when a truck seemingly drove right over the top of the little guy.
When she sees him, the womans helmet cam was rolling as she decides to jump into action.
She jumps off of her motorcycle and rescues the kitten, right after a second trucks tires barely miss the orange furball.
According to BuzzFeed, the woman took the kitten to the vet, who determined it is four weeks old.
She is trying to get in touch with the driver of that maroon car to find out if they own the kitten.
Until she can find his owner, the biker has decided to keep her new friend, whom she has fittingly named Skidmark.
Lacey Lett Face-timed with the Oklahoman about the experience. The good samaritan also has a message for someone who saw the whole thing. Here is a snippet of the raw interview.

I like how her first comment is to complain about the long traffic light.

This is something I would expect our Salamander to do. Following which TG & posse would rage that she was a traffic hazard and a criminal endangering lives.

When I read the headline I was pretty sure I wasn't going to like the video, but it wasn't that bad.
Pets are special gifts from the Lord, particularly cats and dogs, but a person's life is infinitely more precious. I remember a sad event here some 30 years ago when a Dad with his family saw a dog running loose on Highway 85. The Dad pulled his van over to the side, and went running to catch the dog. Another car hit the Van (which was in a place that it wasn't supposed to be) and killed the man's son. I'm sure the man meant well, but that risk just wasn't worth it. I'm also sure the Dad knows that, and has re-lived that decision many times over the years. Hopefully healing came his way.
In this case the lady didn't seem to be in any real danger - so good for her for taking the time and rescuing the little furball.

...equal opportunities for all people regardless of race, religion, nationality or gender.
Sounds all right, but when someone wants to KILL us we should also RESPOND without regard for "race, religion, nationality or gender".
When certain groups get a pass it's not equality at all, is it?

You are correct
Last summer I rode 8 miles home with an injured black snake stuffed in my jacket and a few weeks before that, a painted turtle in my vest pocket.
I have a mesh bag in my trunk in case I encounter any less “ portable” critters.

WARNING! Be very aware of baby kittens found. They have a way of worming their way into your hearts, wrapping you around their little paw, AND TAKING OVER! See what happened to me with my foundling! Now she is grown.

YOU are so cool, Salamander. :)

Bless her and her new furry friend. He looks so cute. Reminds me of my spoiled ginger. Gingers are the best and are loaded with personality and confidence.

I would love it if He did but even if He doesn’t, I will still scoop up the wounded and maimed.
The list of things I’ve snatched off the road would probably blow your mind.
I still have a scar on my lip from the squirrel who used my face as a launching pad.
