This week our daughter is on vacation in Istanbul. I am excited for her to be able to travel to such a historical place, but at the same time am worried sick. I'm not going to sleep well until I hear that she has landed safely in NYC.
We are keeping in touch via Whatapp (an app that lets you text from anywhere there is wifi and won't charge international rates). She is enjoying the sites, getting the hang of how to travel about the city and even sampling some "weird food".
What prompted her to go to Turkey? Her good friend, Denisa, made plans to visit and plane tickets were cheap!
It would be appreciated if you would please say a prayer for their safety.
Thanks for the good news. My daughter spent almost a year in London studying, and I was a nervous wreck most of the time. I had to force myself to think about something else or I would have gone crazy.
Tell Beaker and Denisa to come to lake Whitney

You offered no comment on this video. In lieu of me watching this hour-long video, are you saying Turkey is a good, safe place that we should send our young, stupid, idealistic kids to visit, rather than allowing them to visit beautiful, safer places right here in the United States? I’m just asking.
My daughter has in laws in Turkey - missionaries. There are some safe places and some not so good, from what I understand.
I would go
Heck I would go to Damascus if Obama had not set it on fire.
But I understand your concerns
I’m pleased to hear they’ve made it back, and I hope the next trip is a success, too.
