Poll: Do you think a pedestrian bridge between Jersey City and NYC is a good idea?
Jersey Journal ^ | Octoer 9, 2015

Would you want to walk to Manhattan if you worked there? Or just take a stroll or bike ride over to Battery Park?

A Jersey City resident has high hopes for just that concept.

Kevin Shane dreamed up the concept of a pedestrian bridge linking the Sixth Street Embankment in Downtown Jersey City and Lower Manhattan.

As a NON-resident Erigeron state (or city), I could care less.

“Erigeron” started out as “of either...” Until self-correction got hold of it.

Actually I would favor removing all the bridges in NYC and building a wall around it. We could use it as a containment facility for Communists and get Snake Pliskin to administer operations.

It's a major port and commercial waterway. Unless little Kevin wants to spend a few billion dollars on a pedestrian suspension bridge that is higher than the Verrazzano, he's a little out of his depth.

Would people pay $10 to walk a mile uphill? When they could pay $2.50 for a ride on the PATH train instead?

Why bother with a wall? Leftists are so full of stupid they can't float.

Anyone bright enough to build a boat isn't a Democrat.

They would still charge a toll, and good thing, too. It would keep some of the slime off the bring. Not all, many would pay for an chance to have isolated access to pedestrians.

Why not spend a few billion on zip lines between NYC and Joisey City. Or better yet tie it off to this guy's statue in Paterson.

Who's gonna pay for it? Every dollar of it....

Personally, I would love it! The Hudson is the most beautiful river surrounding Manhattan.

Good point. Okay, then, a pdestrian TUNNEL!

By the way, these are the folks who spent $10 MILLION dollars to build a pedestrian bridge across one street for the Stuyvesant students. Such a project would make the Boston Tunnel look like an exercise in frugality.

Since it costs $14 to drive a car to NYC, I assume that this bridge will charge the same for pedistrans and bikes, rather than forcing others to pay for it.

Also, there ALREADY IS a way to walk from NJ to NYC, which is the George Washington Bridge...further north, but I’ve walked it myself - very cool walk, not crowded, just some fast bicycles to watch out for. Highly recommended.

First, any burka-loving sumbitch, would have a field day, not for any shooting, but just to blow it up, and screw up the traffic of the Port of New York, for some time.

Second, with the gang activity in NYC, can you imagine the ‘turf war’ over this thing?

Third, as the architect’s drawings show, it’s ripe for crimes committed against anyone using the sitting areas by pervs.
