EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (AP) -- Harry Gallatin, the Hall of Fame basketball player who was a seven-time All-Star forward for the New York Knicks in the 1950s, died Wednesday. He was 88.
The Knicks and Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, where Gallatin was a former coach and athletic director, confirmed the death through Gallatin's family. He died in Edwardsville.

3rd NBA star to die in a month.
I played basketball in high school in the 1970s. Know all about George Mikan, Dolph Schayes, Bob Pettit, Oscar Robertson, Wilt, etc. I never heard of this guy.
I never heard of George Mikan until my mid teens. And I lived fairly close to the Twin Cities when growing up. The first decade of the NBA and its star players, except maybe for Mikan and Cousy, are almost virtually unknown.
