You might have noticed that theres no longer an iFixit app in the Apple’s App Store. We are sorry for anyone this has inconvenienced.
Not too long ago, we tore down the Apple TV and Siri Remote. The developer unit we disassembled was sent to us by Apple. Evidently, they didnt intend for us to take it apart. But were a teardown and repair company; teardowns are in our DNAand nothing makes us happier than figuring out what makes these gadgets tick. We weighed the risks, blithely tossed those risks over our shoulder, and tore down the Apple TV anyway.
A few days later, we got an email from Apple informing us that we violated their terms and conditionsand the offending developer account had been banned. Unfortunately, iFixits app was tied to that same account, so Apple pulled the app as well. Their justification was that we had taken actions that may hinder the performance or intended use of the App Store, B2B Program, or the Program.
Live and learn.
The good news is weve been working like gangbusters on our mobile site. All the functionality you need for mobile is already there. Obviously, we’d love it if our app was in the store. But our small team has limited resources, and for the past months weve chosen to improve our mobile websiteto benefit all mobile usersinstead of making improvements to our app. The app that Apple pulled was outdated, and iOS 9 introduced some major bugs into the system. Fixing them would require a substantial rewrite to a bunch of iOS 4-era code.
Will we rewrite the app? Right now, were not planning on it. Our APIs make it easy for anyone else to build one, though. (Our old app is open source if youd like an example to build upon. Just respect our license and dont put ads in it.)
In the meantime, we will continue to support our Android app, which includes native guide creation. And you can always access repair guides and troubleshooting help from any mobile device (including iDevices) on our mobile site.
If you want on or off the Mac Ping List, Freepmail me.
They were excommunicated.

Me 'ats off to yer, gov'nor! That's downright funny, 'tis!
BTW, the Apple red logo image isn't loading, just spins waiting for the site. http://www.findthatlogo.com/ appears to be down as of 06:08 EDT

Sounds more like a bunch of 9yo's digging a "fort" in the back yard.
P*ss all over legal agreements with The Biggest Dog on the porch, get caught, get a lifetime ban and all they've got to say is "Live and learn"?
Calling 'em "maroons" doesn't even come close. (Although my Old School Navy description would burn ears and probably earn me a vacation from posting here for far to long to use.)
Oh well. I'll just look up the Company name for this doofus bunch and won't use their stuff for anything.
In the future, what reputable tech employer is going to believe what they say on a resume? Why in the world would I hire someone who willfully ignored a signed NDA with a big company? Even if they own up to it on their resume, they're totally useless on any project that requires confidentiality.
You're right, "maroons" doesn't begin to cover it. I have some stronger terms, but as you said, we don't want to get banned from the site...
