EVERY day, 11-year-old Jake* runs to the letterbox to check if the postman has been. For four weeks he’s been waiting for a parcel that seems as if it will never come.
Of course these days you can order anything online, but this isn’t like any other purchase his mum, Ellie, has ever made.
“It appears perhaps that our order has been held up in customs,” Ellie says. “That’s something else that just makes me aware of how weird and how covert this could seem to others.”
Even though Ellie desperately wants to help her son, she is the first to admit that it has been an emotional and mental challenge to “try to imagine what it may be like to need this so much.”
Jake is a transgender boy who came out nearly a year ago. The box from America that Ellie and Jake are expecting contains two types of items. One is a so-called “stand-to-pee,” a silicone device that allows someone with female genitalia to stand up while urinating.
The second type of item in the parcel will be a soft, washable “packer,” that gets sewn into underwear to create the outward appearance of male genitalia. “It’s desperately important for him in order to feel comfortable and pass [as a boy] all the time,” Ellie says.

For a tiny group trying desperately for acceptance and to appear normal, every last story about trannies, even from sympathetic media, makes them come off like total freaks.
A trip to a trusted mental health professional should be on the list.
At first I read the first sentence as:

She uses the word “pass”, so she knows it is all a superficial deception, and she wants to help her child to do it. What kind of parent helps their child to lie, instead of teaching their child that lying is wrong???

If you have to go through all that trouble to pretend to be a boy, you are NOT a boy. Have the courage to accept reality, young man.

Well, first of all...Ellie...take a quick look between the childs legs and you'll see that you are talking about your daughter.
Second, after you have come to this stunning and shocking conclusion that "he" really is a girl...set the child down, apologize for the terrible injustice you have inflicted on the child for however many years you have been abusing the child, then explain to the child, that, yes...you are a girl.
Then, cancel the stupid order for the fake penis, take the child by the hand and head for the nearest nut doctor, preferably one that is capable of dealing with both of you, because, assuredly, the child is warped by now.
Oh, and you may want to make a stop by your local clergy and request prayers for yourself and the child and seek the forgiveness of God for the harm you have allowed to be inflicted on the child.
