The nice thing about the Walking Dead is that the writers really have character arcs. People like Carol are nowhere near where they started. They had to start out useless liberals in order for them to grow.

I want to enjoy this series. There are some nice tense moments. I had a little trouble with the ending of this series. Why was the military there? The level of zombie presence just wasn’t a severe level yet, and them shooting Susan-—how did they know? For all they knew, she and the hubby were just hugging....I don’t know...it was a little too deus ex machina.

At this moment, Rick is in a coma. It took about 2 years to evolve to where he was at end of Season 6.

An interesting article, I'll try to find it, speculates that the Zombie Apocalypse started in the fall of 2012. The author makes this point by looking at the older iPhone 4's that some of the people in FTWD are using.

Either Nick's “street smarts” from being a semi-homeless junkie will kick in and he will be a hero... or like to tonight his all consuming search for drugs will be the end of him. So far, I'm thinking hero and I like him. If he does die, he'll go out saving people.

The anti-gun stuff will serve a purpose. Because everybody watching will learn. In a way it will be funny when all those that cheered at home at the anti-gun remark later watch the same guy shooting people in the head... If he lasts the long!
