A prophet may not be honored at home, but a politician needs to be. At least if he hopes to prevail.
A new poll hints Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)
has a bit of a problem in his home state of Texas.
Donald Trump is now the frontrunner there, according to the latest survey. Trump now polls at 24 percent in Texas, roughly what he gets nationally. Cruz drops to second in his home state with 16 percent. Longtime Texas Gov. Rick Perry is a non-factor, polling just 4 percent alongside Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee.
The poll, commissioned for a group called the Texas Bipartisan Justice Committee, was conducted by Gravis Marketing. Its the first such survey since June, when Trump was just getting into the race. Back then Cruz polled a solid 20 percent, and Perry seemed a threat at home with 12 percent.
In the months since, of course, Perry has repeatedly targeted Trump, especially over immigration policy. Those attacks would seem to have backfired for Perry, whos keeping up a travel schedule but is struggling even to raise enough money to pay his staffers.
Texas will hold its primary on Super Tuesday, March 1, along with nine other, mostly southern states.

Hosepipe, you’re hosed!
If Trump can beat Cruz in Texas, clearly Trump will do better in the general election too.
Uh oh.;-)
I am still voting for Cruz no matter what the polls say.
Texas will be one of these scenarios:
Cruz, Trump, Everybody else.
Trump, Cruz, Everybody else.
I’m not losing any sleep.
Kind of shocking. When I saw the headline I expected to see that Cruz and Perry were splitting the vote and that their combined tallies beat Trump. Not that their combined tallies were 4 points less than Trump!
Cruz is the most intelligent in the race. He may not be the best communicator. He would be a great VP or Attorney General.
S’alright. Not to worry. As long as DT doesn’t distance himself from TC or vice the versa.
Guaranteed that even in TX, there are LIVs who have no idea who their junior US Senator is, but know Trump from 'The Apprentice'.
Trump is dominating. No doubt about that. We will see money start to dry up in the next couple of months for many candidates and the field will narrow. Cruz has enough money to last into March. We’ll see how well he fares in the next 6 months. I plan on voting for him in the Primary.
Don Trump is a nationwide phenomenon, so why is this surprising?
Cruz and Trump appear to be working together. I don’t see a problem for Cruz.
Jeb in 4th place.
Don’t worry. It does not matter this early. Cruz is doing just fine. Great in fact.
Cruz may well be president after Trump—He showed wisdom in not attacking Trump and working with him. If he’s VP he might be a powerful force in the Senate and give great advise to Trump—They could be almost co-presidents—not a symbol but a member of the board- and together they might make a team that could return American greatness.

Hang in there Ted. One way or another you’ll be part of the next administration. God willing.

Maybe, maybe Not..
It’s too early for Cruz to get all pissed off over his ideas being STOLEN by TRUMP...
Honest people eventually will see the larceny of it all..
UNLESS their DISHONEST and really don’t care..
you know .... like democrats....
You should always vote your conscience. The polls are often wrong and are run by people with an agenda. Vote for the best candidate. Then you have done your duty.
AG-can u imagine what he could do to expedite deportation?
