Truck takes out overhead highway sign in Saudi Arabia

QATIF, Saudi Arabia, - A Saudi Arabian motorist recorded a truck with its dumping bucket extended taking out an overhead sign on a stretch of highway.
The video, posted to YouTube by Mohamed Qutteineh, shows the truck driving full-speed into the overhead sign, which comes crashing down onto the road below.
Vehicles can be heard honking their horns at the truck prior to the crash in an attempt to warn the driver, but the motorist does not appear to notice the trouble.
Authorities said the Saturday crash in Qatif, Eastern Province, was under investigation and the cost of repairing the sign would be imposed on the truck driver, who was not injured, and the owner of the vehicle.

Interesting sign, not only for what it says but because there are twice as many exit lanes for non Muslims in a country which is officially 100% Muslim.

That driver of that little white pick-up was totally oblivious to what was happening.
FWIW, little white pickups are a dime a dozen over there.

How does a dump truck driver not know the bed is up?Got me. Article says people were honking trying to warn him, too. Seems people, apparently everywhere, are becoming less and less observant. I see many less dramatic examples of this everyday here in New York. People walking across the street/driving while texting, driving with no lights on at night on busy NY streets with practically no one (besides me it seems) telling the drivers, on and on.

Same thing happened here in Ontario about a year ago. Drunk Pakistani immigrant - people were yelling and screaming because they saw him heading toward the Skyway Bridge with the bin on his truck fully extended. It was quite the mess - thankfully, nobody hurt, but we taxpayers picked up the tab to fix everything.
