I’ve never been a member of the John Birch Society but its founder Robert Welch was no “looney businessman”. Even if Welch and the JBS overstated the case against Eisenhower, it was right about the UN, Hiss, the nanny state, the downward spiral of the USA.
George Will has mushed out his once mostly conservative philosophy to the point where he is just an unguided missile.
