Millennials voted in Obama—they’re making life to hard for us!

I was 14 that year - working in Fast Food for $2.10 an hour!

And then CARTER showed up. I went into the Army at 18. Could NOT find a better job and needed $ for college.

It worked out well. Hard Times USED to make people knuckle down, pull themselves up by their bootstraps and BETTER themselves.

I fear it’s no longer that easy. Or that HARD since you can live with your parents pretty much forever! *SHUDDER*

Bullcrap! They’re choosing to make life hard on themselves by constantly voting for more “free” stuff and choosing to remain ignorant (stupid) about the realities of the situation we’re all in and who is ACTUALLY responsible.

And “education” doesn’t mean squat unless it’s in something useful and productive, not some sexist or racist studies...

Having an education only means you’re educated (in something), it doesn’t mean you’re smart.

“The most educated generation in history is on track to becoming less prosperous, at least financially, than its predecessors.”

Surely you jest Diana, they may be the most schooled as far as how much time they have spent in classrooms but they are far, far from being the most educated generation in history. In fact most could not pass my eighth grade history final, even the ones who have a degree in history. Of course if you consider simply being familiar with all the latest smart phone gadgetry the same as being educated that is different. Most that I know have never read the constitution and could not comprehend it if they did.

The most educated generation in history ...

When I read this, I'm reminded of 'Hitchiker's Guide to Galaxy', the chapter with all the hairstylists and phone sanitizers debating about having fire that is nasally insert able.

I think they have been coddled too much and school-media have given them stupid expectations

Additional point that’s growing on me: they have no idea where stuff comes from. Money, food, etc. all just “appear”: money appears in a worker’s bank account periodically, food appears on store shelves neatly wrapped & stacked, housing just exists, so on. So...when any of that magic fails to happen, they are utterly psychologically reliant on persuading _someone_ to once again make it “just appear”.

They have no comprehension of pulling a living literally out of the ground. Hand me a can of assorted seeds and an axe, and I’ll get by fine (after walking far enough to find land suitable for squatting) making my own farm & log cabin; hand ‘em to these kids and they’ll try to eat (then smoke) the seeds and probably cut themselves open on the axe.

All the bickering about “minimum wage” and “guaranteed income” and “EBT” etc utterly fails to address the point that practically none of these dependents have no idea what to do with raw resources even if you _gave_ it to them - they MUST have others turn that stuff into something they can open, microwave, and eat.

No doubt. That seems to be the template...

He’s talking of the generational failure to steward our country and at least hand it to your children in as good a state as it was handed to you. The boomers, as a generation, absolutely failed on that count. The country has been economically ruined, possibly beyond repair, on their watch.

That’s just looking at the economic picture, not even considering other factors like morality, liberties, our standing in the world, etc.

You can say “Well, I didn’t do it”, but it’s not something any one individual did, so that is just an easy way out to avoid anyone taking responsbility for the failure.

Heh, you’ve described the “cargo cults” of the South Pacific with their mockup airfields & expectations of more cargo from the skies.

A parallel? Check out the Millenial vid “Royals” which Weird Al parodied so well.

So the U.S. didn’t rack up 16 trillion in debt while Boomers were the majority of voters?!?

“Try coming of age in 1974 when baby boomers worked for a pittance.”

It’s only gotten worse since then. Or do you think wages have actually risen in the last 40 years faster than inflation?
