Trump Hits Critic George Will For Failing To Disclose Wife's Affiliation to Walker Campaign
http://www.breitbart.com ^ | 7/22/2015 | Katie McHugh

GOP hopeful Donald Trump slammed conservative columnist George Will on Twitter Wednesday for failing to reveal that his wife works for rival Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker’s campaign.

“Shouldn’t George Will have to give a disclaimer every time he is on Fox that his wife works for Scott Walker?” tweeted Trump on Wednesday.

Mari Maseng Will is an advisor to Walker’s campaign, according to the Washington Examiner. Will disclosed his wife’s work in a June 3 Washington Post column but didn’t describe her role. The Examiner goes on to note all of the times Will praised Walker as a “pure Reaganite” and the GOP’s “most potent” candidate. He’s certainly not wrong: Walker resonates powerfully with the base and stormed a July 20 Iowa poll.

Will, however, has heaped withering scorn on Trump for years. In 2012, he attacked Mitt Romney for appearing with Trump after the real estate billionaire endorsed him, saying Trump was a “bloviating ignoramus.”

He’s called Trump a lot of names during this campaign cycle, including this odd insult: the “one-man Todd Akin,” as opposed to, say, Akin’s final two-headed form. (Maybe Will’s been reading too much Thomas “Two-Way Staircase” Friedman.)

Will’s wife previously worked for former Texas Gov. Rick Perry as a campaign spokeswoman in 2011, according to Politico.

Smart of Walker to hire her....knowing he’d get millions in free advertising from George Will’s “unbiased opinion” - and good for Trump for calling him out. Smart to call out Will, and not Walker.

I hate to stick up for George Will, token conservative for the Washington Post and New York Time, but every recent column of his that I've seen recently includes the disclosure that his wife works for the Scott Walker campaign.

Trump is definitely a loose cannon, but at least he is aimed in the right direction.

Trump is sharp and tenacious. He’s not letting go of the dishonest posers in the press.

My thoughts on it are along the same lines. However, Will’s wife certainly does have a right to work wherever she can learn a living.

But, seriously, if I were the Walker campaign, I’d be examining my consultants with a much harsher eye. To have a consultant married to so clearly a GOPe useless wonk that is content to be a token conservative, comfortable in his cushy journalist and TV roles is a big, big RED flag to me. Frankly, Walker doesn’t need that kind of advice and consulting, especially if he is campaigning as an outsider.

Will and his wife are just another DC “power couple” that feed off the political system. They are part of the club and don’t like outsiders who make waves.

Trump is the only one not owned by big money donors and lobbyists.

Politicians are all controlled and owned by lobbyists and big money donors.

Politicians have ruined this country and are pandering lying sell outs. We all know this.

A politician will sell his mother for a $5000 contribution or bribe and you know that.

Also I’ve never seen anyone take down the media like Trump has.

Trump is controlling what issues get talked about, even having the Trump act passed in the House and he’s not even elected yet.

Trump is the only one that figured out that illegals and China are the two main threats destroying America

When Will is on the Bret Baier show, he does disclose his wife’s situation before he questions any candidate running for President. RINO or not, at least Will is upfront on that. Trump is a loudmouth narcissist.

There are a lot of them. I tend to think of them along the same lines that Yankees think of backwoods country hicks - rednecks marrying their sisters and cousins - inbred to the hilt and hiding in plain sight.

In today's business world they have to.....if they want to keep that FCC license renewable.

I heard Bret Baier give the disclaimer this week when Will was on the panel. Now I know why. Trump strikes again.

Trump is exposing a lot of sleazy people, their hidden agendas, and their monumental failings. In the process he is creating lots of enemies.

I like Trump. He is has the courage of his convictions and is providing an invaluable public service. The system is rotten to the core and he is trying to disinfect it. He may not succeed but he is certainly giving it his best shot. Bravo Donald!

He ‘discloses’ because at some point someone called him on it.

Trump is the only one not owned by big money donors and lobbyists.....He's the only one who can save America now.

And people wonder why we think SOME - not all, BUT SOME - of the Trumpsters do belong in the looney bin. That first statement is totally absurd, and the second one smacks of the Obama bots and their fan boi mentality.

I like what Trump's doing, and if he wins nom, I'll vote for him as often as I can, but I simply must call out the above foolishness for what it is.

No, Will did not disclose it. Bret Baier did and it was only recently that this was divulged. Will said nothing about his wife.
