The IRS reported this week that 6.6 million people paid the ObamaCare mandate penalty for not having insurance last year, which the administration says is 10% higher than they'd expected. This isn't exactly good news, given that the entire point of the mandate penalty tax is to encourage everyone to buy coverage. Even if it were, the number comes with two big caveats.

Wow. 6,6 mil paid the penalty. That’s 6,6 mil too many given the numerous loopholes and exemptions. That’s a failure for our side in that we didn’t educate these people in how to avoid it.
The way I remember it is they expected all the sheep to sign on right away.
And they spent millions to egg the cow on and step up to the plate so they can be milked.
Everyone’s covered, everyone saves $2500/yr, and life is beautiful!
My family got the exemption, we had to have our representative get it for us...
which is why Obamacare will never go away. More power to the representatives.

Of course. Still, inundating them with exemption requests is a good thing.
Did the health sharing ministries approach not work out?
