Moving right along on My Velocity Airplane project, top is all cleaned up, lines all straight and even, finish sanding on the top of plane next week.
TOPICS: Education; Hobbies; Travel
KEYWORDS: velocity
By the end of the week, everything on the top of airplane will be completely finished, then I will pull off wings, canard and flip over upside down to finish bottom of plane. Should only take a week for the bottom, then the gear goes back in, controls, engine,..... I really only have about 10% left to finish, but that 10% is a whole lot of little stuff that is very time consuming. Still on track to fly by the end of the year.

Lookin’ good! It’s that last 10% that takes 50% of the build time.

It would. But my quick fix was to rotate my laptop to the right 90 degrees.

Is this a new kit you’re working from, or a refurb? Looking great, BTW!

I think with airplane building that last 10% takes 90% of the time and 90% of the $$$$ :^)

Not sure why that happened, when I posted them they were right side up, but hey it should pull 90 degree turns at 180 knots anyway

Very nice.
I hope you aren't putting a Franklin in it?
Work on it some every day (even if you're only thinking, planning or ordering parts) and it'll one day fly. BTDT.

I have an IO360 200hp in a crate waiting to put on, I have somebody else doing the finish work in my hangar. He will be done in a couple weeks, then it is just a matter of reassembling everything. Hoping by the end of the year to be taxiing.

Excellent.
You'll be fine then. I trust you're engaging all your local EAA pals, technical adviser and flight adviser...
Good luck with First Flight!
