Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.) says the 1st Amendment’s religious liberty protections don’t apply to individuals. On MSNBC last week, Wisconsin’s junior Senator claimed that the Constitution’s protection of the free exercise of religion extends only to religious institutions, and that individual’s do not have a right to the free exercise of their own religion.
During the MSNBC appearance, which was covered by Breitbart and NewsBusters, Baldwin appeared clueless to the fact that the free exercise clause of the 1st Amendment has already been found to apply to individuals – not just churches, synagogues, mosques or other institutions of faith and worship.

While this is absolutely disgusting, on a whole bunch of levels, I'm trying to figure out if it is also as stupid as a US Congressman presenting a bill to change the name of a fish so as not to offend any Asians.

Actually the 1st amendment only applies to the National Guard, just like the 2nd.
You know what is sickening. No Republican politician will make a political issue out of this. But when the shoe is on the other foot, Democrat politicians milk idiotic and not so idiotic statements from Republican politicians for all they are worth.

You are probably right, in that the Republicans aren't much different from the Democrats - with a few exceptions they are all members of the 'let's grow Big Government' UniParty.
But that said, if a Republican pointed out this Senator's idiocy would we ever hear about it? The communist Media censors the 'news'. They'll let you hear what they deem fit to be heard.
So I guess corporations do have 1st Amendment rights, just not individuals. Wait...
