My Friend, the Hillary-Hater (vanity)
June 27, 2015 | me

Posted on 06/27/2015 6:31:46 AM PDT by Leaning Right

A friend of mine really, really dislikes Hillary Clinton. And he is not shy about telling you why. He sees Hillary as an unprincipled money-grubbing shill for the corporations. And he is very offended by her coronation-like campaign style.

I recently asked him, "So what will you do if Hillary is the Democratic nominee for president?"

"Vote for her," he said instantly.

His answer did not surprise me much. My friend is a life-long democrat.

I'm just throwing this out for discussion. Most liberals vote party-line. But most conservatives are more choosy. We vote, or withhold our vote, based on ideas. But if this continues, perhaps we have seen the last GOP president.

If so, maybe that is a good thing, maybe not. I suppose history will decide.

Who needs a government when we have a Supreme Court?

Thought-experiment: let’s imagine a truly-conservative version of Hillary, someone who is personally corrupt and arrogant, but who as President would work to return the nation to conservative government and Christian morality—in short, someone who thinks like Sarah Palin and acts like Hillary Clinton.

How many FReepers would vote for Hillary Palin, knowing we would have to live with her mendacity, corruption, vengefulness and arrogance, in order to obtain the end of Obamacare, support for Israel in the middle east, rebuilding of the military for deterrence, sealing the borders, shrinking the Federal government and the return of Christian sexual morality? Answer: not enough to overcome the hordes who would vote for Hillary Clinton, because they don’t care what she gets or how she’s treated as long as they get to do what they want to do, and get to have what they want to have.

This is a perfect illustration of why term limits would be a disaster for the pubbie party. While we agonize over choosing just the right one for our candidate the left votes for anything with a (D) behind it.

They don’t care how whacked-out, unqualified, or baggage-ridden their choice is - once told who to pull the lever for they line up and do their dirty business.

This also shows why, in ‘08 after we raised the alarm flag (are we still allowed to say “flag”?!) about what an unqualified boob Øbozo was the left collectively shrugged and pulled the lever for him anyway.

Your friend is a moron. My parents are Catholic and vote Democrat. Never figured it out. Similar to the American Jews who support them even though they don’t support Israel.

I used to think as you do. Libs will vote for whomever their candidate is because as Rush puts it, 'they get incrementalism'. They know their candidate may not be 100% pure, but they'll take whatever percentage they can get, knowing it will get them closer to their goals. However, we have reached a point with RINOs in which the only incrementalism we will get will be in the 'rat direction. A Jeb Bush will not bring us incrementally closer to a conservative ideal, but closer a democrat statist ideal with no more national borders. It is useless to vote for RINOs just for the sake of saying 'our guy won'.

Wow, your friend sounds so much like the Romney voters I know, and the McCain voters before that.

That's actually a point well-taken!

If you don't think Romney would have been a better president than Obama then you are blind. Lieberman would have been a better president than Obama. A lot of democrats would have been better presidents.

Mark Levin said he would have voted for a soup can over Obama. You should call his show and tell him he's a RINO, I'd love to hear that...

I have nothing original to contribute to the argument you raise, which has been addressed thousands of times on this site.
I simply pointed out that Democrats too have hold-your-nose voters and no one should be surprised at it.

Ha! I actually enjoy listening to him attack Hillary, especially when we're in the company of impressionable voters. In a way, he's a fifth-columnist, and he doesn't even know it.

I will not, however, discuss general political issues with him. That would just cause trouble, and he's a good guy otherwise. Plus, he owns a big truck that I can borrow occasionally.

I once asked my Democrat neighbor who she voted for. She said, “Obama.” I asked, “Why?” She said, “Why? Because he’s a Democrat!”

The question isn’t realistic because it isn’t possible, except in their own sick mind, for someone to put their own self interest before the country, as Hillary does, and also do what’s best for the country.

There are millions of Republicans that do the same thing. I am ashamed to say I was one last presidential election. I did not believe a word Mitt Romney said as he had taken opposite positions on almost every issue previously. I held my nose anyway.

Never again.

If The Cheap Labor Express gets their amnesty canidate in Jebster or Rubio, I will not vote for them.

Even if Hillary thanks me.

Warren G. Harding comes to mind as a possible example: he promoted morality while philandering, kept the government out of the 1920 depression while allowing his own administration to be riddled with scandals, supported civil rights for blacks a la Booker T. Washington while living a segregated life himself.

I know! 75% of Jews voted for president oreo! I’m a Jew and I don’t get it. I ask all the time why did you vote for Hitler. He hates Jews and Israel and you follow him like he’s a god.
