PBS says an episode of "Finding Your Roots" that omitted references to Ben Affleck's ancestor as a slave owner violated public TV standards.
In a statement Wednesday, PBS said it's postponing the show's third season and delaying a commitment to a fourth year until it's satisfied with improvement in the show's editorial standards.
The public TV service launched an investigation after it was reported that Affleck requested the 2014 episode not reveal his ancestor was a slaveholder.
The review found that co-producers violated PBS standards by allowing improper influence on the show's editorial process and failed to inform PBS or producing station WNET of Affleck's effort to affect the program's content
In a statement, Gates apologized for forcing PBS to defend the integrity of its programming.
Are they going to require that people disclose that they have ancestors who were convicted felons? Sex offenders? Dropped out of school? Vote GOP? What, exactly, is on the list of things they are required to disclose? What about if grandpa was an alcoholic or great aunt Rachel was a prostitute?
Why was he so concerned that he had an ancestor who was a slave holder? I guess we all do, probably even all blacks.
The new standard:
Disclosing to a potential date that you were actually born male is not required because that’s private.
Not disclosing that an ancestor owned slaves is deceptive.
Got that, class?
So obviously now guilt is passed on down from parent to child. Everyone is guilty of everything done by any ancestor.
But what about a child conceived from a “donor” and/or given birth to by a “surrogate” “mother”? Does the guilt stop there, or is is passed down through the genes? Or does it pass through the “parents”, bypassing the genes?
The country is in a fit of mass hysteria as it slowly disintegrates into complete insanity.
Most of those things have been divulged, if not all, in other segments.
So illegal immigrant children should not be punished for what they’re parents did but everyone else.....okay.
Use the double standard against them.
It's really the only solution.
