I must say I am surprised.
I really have little desire to see this movie.

My grandchildren all seem to take an interest in dinosaurs. they have kiddie books about them, and they seem to get a lot of coverage in the public schools.
I was at a family dinner the other night, and noticed that the kids were watching a cave-man movie of some kind.
Maybe that accounts for it.

Watching it today, surprised how fun it is.
I assume some of Bryce Dallas Howards clothes will get ripped off in the second half... to advance the plot.

Am too old to waste my time and money on a franchise I didn’t care for in the first place. Waiting for something both new and good. Not holding my breath.

I really enjoyed the first one—still do. Subsequent ones, not so much.
But I do want to see this one. It looks good. And I think it might be best viewed on the big screen.

I question the significance of broken records concerting attendance and rollout. After all, after 20 since Jurassic Park there are simply more people that have been born to watch such things.

Saw it this afternoon. It was a good ride. Any better than the original? I’d say about even. The Howard lady was easy on the eyes but then I like Judy Greer when she is dolled up.

Chris Pratt is the hottest actor in Hollywood - and I mean that in the box-office sense. This is his 3rd consecutive blockbuster in a row, and he’s already being groomed for the next Indiana Jones.

People getting chased by dinosaurs is now proven universally entertaining and independent of language.

More dinosaurs eating people.
Now if they could show a T-Rex consuming Hillary or Obama -- I'd pay a dollar to see that.

Jurassic Park: cost $63 million, grossed $1,063 million
Lost World JP II: cost $73 million, grossed $640 million
Jurassic Park III: cost $93 million, grossed $360 million
Jurassic World: cost $150 million, grossed $511 million (in one weekend)
By the time this one is done, it will probably gross about $1.3 billion. For an investment of $380 million over the 4 films, they're grossing about $3.3 billion... about ten times as much for the return. Not a bad way to go.
And for $3.3 billion, they probably could build the actual park at this point... and they might even be wise enough to only generate herbivores, by now.
(Even spread over 20 years, these four movies alone have grossed more than the Marshall Islands have as an entire nation over that time... and that's not including the toys and games and video games, etc.)
