She finds the nearly nude sort-of rude! Designer Carolina Herrera, best known for her beautiful silhouettes and classic white shirts, ripped the "almost naked" look worn by so many celebrities, including Kim Kardashian, Beyonce, and Jennifer Lopez, recently at red carpet events.
Herrera, 76, spoke to the Washington Post about how some of her fellow designers believe "it's so modern to be naked or almost naked" when, in fact, it's counterproductive.
"They think it's going to attract younger people if they do those dresses," she reasoned. "No! The almost naked! Oh God!"
According to Herrera, stars are doing it for publicity. "They’re trying to get people to pay attention to them," she reasoned. "In life, there should be a little mystery."
Herrera said these stars were not setting an example. "They’re supposed to be fashion icons and they’re not wearing anything," she told the paper with an "exasperated and dismayed" tone. "It’s an obsession now."
The designer noted that she's an advocate of strategically showing skin — including a plunging neckline that's precisely structured. "If it’s open so much, they look like fried eggs," she noted. "Fashion is about proportion... For me, fashion is about originality, sophistication and beauty. I’m not in the fashion business; I’m in the beauty business."

Totally agreed. I was in NYC for the opening of the China themed fashion exhibit at the Met, for which they had closed off the entire museum. I thought I’d see some beautiful outfits in the press the next day, but what I saw was the backsides and barely veiled other parts of rap “divas” and their white wannabe counterparts. Btw, they were referred to almost uniformly in the press as the “royalty” of NYC.
Yes, but a tad bit more expensive.
Nothing baffling about it. It’s the “Look At Me, Look AT Me” crowd.

Beyonce created an alter ego Sasha Fierce to separate her shy personality from her stage persona and give herself the courage to be sexual while performing.
She named her album: I Am … Sasha Fierce.
Now the singer says that she’s comfortable enough with herself to be all of those things without an alias.
“I don’t need Sasha Fierce anymore, because I’ve grown and now I’m able to merge the two.”
“Sasha Fierce is done. I killed her,”
As am I.
In general, I try not to get upset when nearly naked women make an appearance.
