Yes they are. And before they do, they have to confess their sins and ask the Lord for forgiveness and repent their sins
I recently lost my stepdaughter to cancer, so I have an idea what Biden is going through. It still does not change the fact that Obama and Biden have all but destroyed our country.
It is reminiscent of the baptismal cloth.
The person “put on” Christ at baptism, and so has he died in Christ.
It might have been the time for a private family service then, were Joe of the state of mind you describe.
I turned it off and switched to a "Walker, Texas Ranger" marathon.
Who doesn't like Chuck Norris?
It still does not change the fact that Obama and Biden have all but destroyed our country.
I totally agree with that. I just think that we need to stop slamming the children of the President and Vice President especially when they die.
I am so sorry for your loss. I hate to hear this. It is the cruelest thing for a parent to have to deal with...very unfair.
It reminds me of the singer Roy Orbison who also lost his wife in motor cycle accident and his two sons in a fire. For some reason, the Lord puts these men through the worst pain imaginable.
Anyone getting kicked in the head by Chuck Norris?
The simple answer is yes.
In the case of the Catholic chaplain on deployment my answer would be that in that circumstance (there are no atheist in foxholes) I would guess that the best practice is dont ask dont tell.
But from my childhood instruction and from my reading since it is church doctrine that only practicing baptized Catholics are permitted to receive communion.
By practicing we mean believing Catholics who regularly go to confession.
In my personal opinion the majority of the Catholics I know well should not go to communion.
The Order of Christian Funerals states:
38. If it is the custom in the local community, a pall may be placed over the coffin when it is received at the church. A reminder of the baptismal garment of the deceased, the pall is a sign of the Christian dignity of the person. The use of the pall also signifies that all are equal in the eyes of God (see James 2:1-9). . .
Like I said I could be mistaken and it could have been someone else. The one I did see, did receive the sacrament. I did see several others receive the blessing
What CHILD did the President lose????
I agree.
The respect and understanding the Left gives those on our side (the Palin family for example) should be used as a guideline.
I agree. As a mom who lost a daughter in 2004, there is absolutely nothing worse for a parent. My mom’s sister lost 5 kids over her lifetime. The 3 girls all died of some form of cancer in about a year about 2010. One son died as an infant and the other son died about 20 years go. There are three sons left. My mom and her siblings are all gone now and there are not that many cousins left. We are the older generation now. I just hope and pray that we are the examples they were.
I don’t see that here. This is specifically a comment about Obama taking Catholic communion when he is not catholic. I occasionally attend Catholic services with family, and stay in the pew. It’s a legitimate discussion. I agree, supporting Biden right now as a man is something that should be universal for the reasons stated here, but this is about something completely different.
Yes, ONLY PRACTICING CATHOLICS that are WITHOUT mortal sin on their souls can receive Holy Communion. You may go up, fold your arms across your chest and the Priest is glad to give you a blessing.
There is NO Mass WITHOUT Holy Communion.
So, I am a little confused. The Midnight Masses where every Christian was invited to participate and the deployment situation... were the priests "wrong" in those circumstances? Is there a "cultural exemption" that opens the doors of participation in some cases?
I point out that having been raised in a Protestant tradition, the rules vary from church to church when we have The Lord's Supper, which is the mainline Southern Protestant version of Communion.
Sometimes only baptized Christians can participate, even if that is a small child (the general restriction is that it be a voluntary baptism, not infant). Sometimes, everyone, even unbaptised children can participate. Sometimes, only members of that denomination can participate. Sometimes only member of that specific church can participate, so even if you a member of the Baptist church across town, you can't participate in that particular celebration.
It can be confusing, but generally speaking, the pastor will give directions beforehand.
My prayers go out to the Biden family. It is a terrible thing to have to bury a child.
Every few minutes :-)
